Lake City Wedding

We got married in Lake City this past weekend and rented the house for some of our bridal party. We were able go check in early so people could get ready for the rehearsal on Friday. On Saturday it was our get ready spot for the bridesmaids. The living room, kitchen dining room area was so perfect for getting hair and makeup done. We had a bunch of ladies there and it was perfect! Our photographer even used some of the cute house decor in some of our pictures! I put my wedding dress on in the basement, we will remember this place forever!

Cute house

I wanted to love this house but it fell short. Owner is very nice and accommodating to our addition of family members, communication was “so-so”. We were having trouble with the lock (operator error) getting a call back took time and the “property manager” never answered. The photos on the listing are mostly accurate, but description evasive. ALL 3 bedrooms on the top floor. No bathrooms or bedrooms on the main floor & the basement has the bathroom w/shower AND the washer/dryer. If you are in a bedroom and would like to shower (rather than use the small very old claw foot style bathtub) go down 2 flights of fairly steep stairs to do so. The beds are not very comfortable in our opinion. Lumpy and definitely not “hotel grade down feather comforters”. The closets in the bedrooms did not have any hanging racks- no where to hang your clothes! In one bedroom closet were 2 filthy fans (because it is hot and doesn’t have central air - but has an air conditioning unit in one of the windows upstairs). One of the bed frames was a bit dilapidated …. How this got by housekeeping inbetween guests is beyond me? And window coverings are sheers. Main floor is very cute & nice as well as the kitchen which had what we needed. The front porch is a nice place to have morning coffee. Dog across the street barks a lot and in the AM hours. Overall this house is “fine” but the upstairs (bedrooms) could use some TLC. No soaps etc provided for the tub. Gave a “3” because of upstairs.

Great Location - Great Place to Stay

We were impressed with the ease of checking in and checking out and the location to Lake City was perfect us. The entire house appeared to have been just cleaned before our arrival.

Great home and great location

What a great location for a quick family getaway. We loved walking a few blocks to shop and get coffee as well as to the marina to rent a boat for the day. House is very clean with everything you need for a comfortable stay. There are train tracks a few blocks away so if you are a light sleeper bring ear plugs and you'll be just fine.

Wonderful potential and needs a few tweaks to make it truly comfortable

We loved this little home, the space, the nice kitchen and dinning area and have a few suggestions. We stayed for 4 nights. We were grateful for the air conditioning on the hot humid days but like many older homes, the downstairs was nice and cool but the three bedrooms upstairs had a tough time getting cooled down because not much air comes out of the upstairs vents. We suggest your turn the AC down a coupe hours before you go to bed. There are two nice bathrooms but there is no bathroom on the ground floor so you find yourself using lots of stairs. The shower had a small leak when we arrived but the owners were super helpful and fast at fixing it. The first night we spent 1.5 hours getting rid of thousands of light seeking Minnesota flying insects that were all over the bed covers and ceilings the and were grateful that there were two vacumes to use to vacuum them up one by one. Again, the owners were super helpful at fixing where the insects were coming from by the next day but the first night was a bit miserable. A couple of the beds were comfortable but the front room had an older bed that sagged pretty badly which in our case contributed to back pain. There are lovely windows but the window coverings are in some cases missing completely and in others are not dark enough to allow for sleeping much after the sun rises unless you wear a mask. Thank you for sharing this home with us and we wish you the best as you continue to tweak a few issues that will increase the comfort dramatically.

Cute house

My cousin, sister and I stayed here for a girls weekend. Chelsea was great to work with, timely communication and answered all my questions quickly. House was clean , neat, and nicely decorated. Patio with fire pit, grill and comfy furniture was a bonus! Love “Alexa” was ready and waiting! The new bathroom in the basement with the only shower is nice, the stairs going down there were a little “scary” at first glance but no big deal.
