My family had a lovely trip to Honua Kai. This was our second time at the resort and the first time in this unit.
The resort is well appointed, with several pools and nice amenities. Since our last trip 3 years ago, they’ve expanded their general store on site and it’s nice to have that available.
The unit was a lovely 2 bedroom. I read reviews with concerns about the carpet and kitchen supplies. The property manager must have listened because the carpet was replaced with new flooring and the kitchen was well stocked.
The construction noise wasn’t a big issue. Even during the day it was fine to sit in the balcony. It can get quite dusty though.
Maui Resort Rental was good and easy to work with. We requested an extra bed, a blow up mattress and a wireless speaker, and they were all there when we arrived. I also appreciated that they supplied coffee and banana bread so we were ready for breakfast on the first morning!
The reason for the 4 star review is poor experience during check in and with the bell staff. They helped us get all our stuff to the room, which is a nice service if it’s done right. They gave us someone else’s food, which caused all kinds of chaos. They also misplaced my son’s sand toys, which they never found and and didn’t seem too concerned about. They eventually made it right, but it took about 10 phone calls and in person visits. Not the way you want to spend vacation time.
Overall, it’s a wonderful place and we had an awesome time. Highly recommend d.
