6/10
The standard of the hotel isn’t what you’d expect for one in VI and the price.
First, I had no hot water in my room, the temperature was lukewarm but I guess manageable. The shower pressure wasn’t great but maintenance came and made it “better” for a while.
Second, the water in the bathroom had a slight yellow tint. Guessing pipe issue but I could ignore this as it was only worse with the toilet water.
Finally and probably the most egregious was the lack of working WiFi. Nothing upsets me more than a hotel with crappy WiFi, this ruined my stay. The WiFi in the room wasn’t working from the moment I checked in, but a staff member did bring up an MTN modem which I believe had to be topped up. After the 1st day, it ran out and had to be topped up again, Which it was. But when this ran out again on the 3rd day, I felt uncomfortable going back down to request this again so I endured the rest of my time there with no WiFi. There’s absolutely no reason for a hotel to have crappy WiFi. All rooms should have perfectly working WiFi and not have to rely on extra modems.
I would advise management to really spend time (and money) fixing these basic amenities. I personally wouldnt stay here again or advise my friends to but best to fix these things for the next guests.
The staff members were kind, hence the 3 stars. It would’ve been 2 stars otherwise.
