Nice vacation spot for family

It was a great stay. Just wanted to say that AC is only available in the bedrooms but not in the living room area. Other than that it was a nice place. Easy communication with the manager.

Outdated dark and tired

We were looking forward to a post Christmas vacation with our adult children. The layout is wonderful, and the upstairs bedrooms are very roomy and comfortable. 2 of the 3 bathrooms are outdated and desperately need some attention. The lanai is dirty and we had to hose off debris and chicken poop everyday.

The unit is dated

We had a great holiday on Maui, but this unit is old and run down. Very dark and right on the main drag so there is a lot of traffic noise. The Ekahi Development itself is quite nice. Great landscaping. Really good for families with young kids. But not good for couples. The main pool and pavillion and beach are packed. As long as the price stays reasonable for this unit, Wailea is a nice upscale area.

The beautiful property

I love the property and super easy walk to the ocean. I would love and ocean view but the unit doesn't have one and I knew that. just a 2 minute walk and there is the ocean.

Overall a nice rental but all Audio Visual Equipment was either old and barely functional or non functional, including DVD machine. T V was difficult to get on and watch… remotes not working, Given the price I paid everything should have been new and in perfect working condition

Dirty Washer

My crew who stayed here sent me a video of their washer and it was covered in dirt and mold, so they weren't able to do laundry during their stay. I'm talking really dirty, not something you could wipe off real quick. Happy to share the video if there was a way.

Ekahi is an excellent location. We enjoyed out stay, the property worked well for our family. It was nicely equipped with beach chairs, towels and essential items. The property isn't fancy but we would stay here again.

Great Stay with a few hiccups

Great stay! No AC hits downstairs but otherwise we loved the condo. Service staff was great when we asked for a fan. Just be warned, the resort is extremely strict. No floaties, no volleyball, no music, no laughing, no talking with the slightest of a raised voice. Not even our kids could use floaties in the pool. No spike ball even in the grass at the resort. The stay was amazing, but the complex is intense. Unsure that we will stay at this complex again as there are plenty of other places with less rules/strictness.

Definitely lack luster

There was a warning that this property was like staying at an outdated Hawaiian cabin. The cost compared to the property was completely misaligned. This location should be much less expensive to stay given how worn down the place is. Thankfully we were not there very often because obviously it is much more beautiful to be outside vs inside.

Filthy, worn and outdated

CB staff were wonderful (Matt ), the beds were comfortable and the A/C upstairs was great. The place was filthy! Not from the last renter, but deep, fundamental filth. Carpets are thread bare, lots of cockroaches in the kitchen drawers, tubs were dirty, paint was filthy, chips and rust throughout bathroom fixtures and tile. I have been going to Maui since 1974 and Ekahi village for 42 years. I lived on Oahu and I know there can be bugs in the tropics, but these cockroaches were over the top! I wish I could attach pictures to show what I mean.

Cheap stay comparatively to area... you get what you pay for on this unit.

The unit was clean upon arrival but the walls had peeling wallpaper and were dirty and/or scuffed in numerous spots. The unit has clearly NEVER been remodeled - everything is original from 1970's and the furniture reminded us of the furniture used on the "Golden Girls" tv show. One review said it was "retro", which we agree, its clearly old school decor. The master bed was horrible, and we both experienced back problems through-out the stay due to it. Our kids said there beds were super uncomfortable as well. There was evidence of insect issues with ant and bug traps everywhere and the couple dead cockroaches we found. We didn't have to deal with the insects, but all the old/dead ones tells us this unit has an issue. The dishwasher is 40 years old (original) and doesn't clean the dishes well at all, so we had to really wash by hand and then run them again. The carpet throughout is completely worn out and is so filthy you want to wear your shoes inside, even the bathrooms have carpet, yuk! The unit is located right on a busy road making it every loud on the Lanai and at night trying to sleep. It was in a great location for us as we were close to our friends staying in another unit (that was completely remodeled and so much nicer), but not exactly sure it was worth the price paid. I highly recommend against booking this unit, it falls way below the standards that you come to expect from a unit in Wailea. A/C is a joke. First of all, there is no A/C on main level. So if you expect to use the bed downstairs, be prepared to hot all night. Upstairs the units do provide some cooling but still really hot, so crank the fans up to high and hope by 3am you are cool enough to use blankets and feel comfortable. This unit is very far walk from the main/kids pool and the beach. There is a smaller pool closer, but not nearly as fun and its considered a "quiet pool", rendering it useless as we have a loud 9 year old. The ONLY redeeming quality of the stay was that unit has everything you need from a kitchen, laundry and multiple bathrooms point of view (compared to other VRBO/rentals we have used over the years around the U.S.). Don't be tricked by the perfect photos, the unit is old old old. The unit feels small and crowded. The Lanai is useless. The unit is hot and the A/C is useless. The furniture and decor screams 70's and 80's.
