Things to Know
A few things we would like you to know before you arrive, so your stay is as comfortable as possible.
🌡️ Colorado mountain homes are not typically equipped with central air conditioning. Thanks to the cool alpine climate, summer evenings generally range between 45° and 55°F. Opening the windows allows fresh mountain air to naturally cool the home, and a portable air conditioning unit in the Discover Room and portable fans are provided for added comfort.
🏔️ Keystone sits at about 9,300 feet. We recommend taking your first day gently and drinking plenty of water while you adjust to the altitude.
🏡 Star Mountain Lodge is in a quiet residential neighborhood. Its town permit welcomes overnight stays for up to 23 guests and does not allow weddings, receptions, parties, or events.
🚙 Four-wheel drive or all-wheel drive is highly recommended from October through May.
