My family and I just returned from Maui, and this was our first - and absolutely our last - time using VRBO…We booked a two-bedroom unit for four nights. Upon arrival, we were told our reservation had been completely mishandled and split across multiple rooms: a two-bedroom for two nights, a one-bedroom for the third night, and a studio for the fourth. That meant packing up and moving three times during a four-night vacation, which was completely unacceptable and nowhere close to what we had booked.It gets worse. The reservation wasn’t even properly under my name: it was tied to someone else, with me listed only as a “guest.” That alone tells you how poorly this was handled.We lost the entire first day of our vacation trying to fix this mess while Marriott and the host pointed fingers at each other and took zero accountability. No urgency, no ownership, no real effort to resolve anything. VRBO customer support was just as bad and useless: hours on hold, endless transfers to “supervisors,” dropped calls. empty promises, and absolutely no follow-through. Had we relied on them, we likely would have been left without an adequate place to stay.This was a complete failure across the board: by the host, by VRBO, and by everyone involved. Save yourself the stress, wasted time, and ruined vacation days: do not book with this host, and think very carefully before using VRBO at all.If zero stars were an option, that’s exactly what they would get.
