Covered front and rear porches for additional indoor/outdoor living space with a newly constructed outdoor bar and deck. Views of boulder mountains from the back porch; views of the entire basin and dry-lakebed below from the front porch; views of amazing sunrise over the mountains from the side porch. Stargazing from Everywhere, but especially from the newly built Villa Estrella (Star Village)!

Fireplace (not operable at this time) in the living room and wood-stove in the den for intimate, cozy heating. (Central Heat as well). Fantastic setting with a remote feel, yet very close to paved roads and town. Tucked up against deep wilderness boarding the Joshua Tree National Park out the back door. Considering the views, the multitude of Joshua Trees and boulders nearby, you pretty much have your own National Park all to yourself.

The Way Out Ranch is equipped with systems to help keep guests comfortable and secure. We have outdoor security cameras to monitor exterior areas around including the driveway, front doorbell, patio area, and hang out area in the back.

We have adopted new cleaning protocols according to the CDC guidelines in response to Covid-19. You can see the checklist and details of the new cleaning guidelines we are practicing on Airbnb's cleaning section.

Plenty of parking! Feel free to park in the yard or the driveway. If parking on the stone driveway it is best to drive up SLOW.

Located in the Friendly Hills area of Joshua Tree. Mountain top with views of the national park in the distance below. The perfect location of ten minutes to the park entrance and five minutes into the funky town of Joshua Tree.

Not to mention you will have close to 3 acres of private land with breath taking views all to yourself!

Wi-fi signal is extremely Strong! Top of the line!

Cell phone reception works from all carriers.

Help yourself to coffee and the basic oils, spices, and condiments. There is a Weber BBQ outside and a fire starter for the barbecue on the back porch area. We recommend stocking up on groceries in Yucca Valley, 7 miles to the west. But if you need to do a smaller grocery run, Sam's Market or Joshua Tree Health Food are two places in Joshua Tree (5 minutes away).

When driving on unpaved roads in the neighborhood, please keep speeds below 15 mph and watch for wildlife — snakes, rabbits, and most importantly tortoises!

Joshua’s Paradise

This house is epic! My family and I stayed here for my birthday and made lasting memories. Let’s start off with the location. Downtown and national park are just down the street. Very easy to get to. The house was spacious, clean, fully equipped and aesthetically pleasing. The property has a huge back yard with beautiful Joshua trees and plenty of space for activities, the dogs loved it. Finn is an exceptional host. He is responsive and was very helpful with great recommendations. We will definitely be coming back when we get the chance.

Great Stay

Our group had a fantastic time at the Way Out Ranch. The house was spacious and fully stocked for activities and dining. Both kids and adults loved the board games and arcade games, as well as the plentiful outdoor space. This was a relaxing and fun retreat to return home to after enjoying day trips to Joshua Tree Park. Finn was super easy to communicate with.

Great stay close to Joshua Tree NP

As we planned our trip to Joshua Tree NP, one of the most important aspects was location. The Way Out Ranch was perfect! It was very close to the park entrance, while also easy to get to restaurants/groceries. The house was clean, and our family of 8 (5 adults and 3 children) had a comfortable and enjoyable stay. We hope to be back soon!

Loved everything about the house. Well equipped, comfortable, clean, great back yard, fantastic location. I gave it 4 stars on the accuracy of description. It is not a 5 bedroom. The "fifth bedroom" is in fact a family room with no privacy, and an extremely comfortable fold-out couch.

Wonderful Home, Stellar Host!

I visited with my wife, children, neice, sisters and our 94 year old mother. We had a Great Time. Finn is a fantastic host. The home is great. The location and lot are amazing. There were eight of us including only one couple. Totally comfortable with one person on the pull out couch. Very convenient to Joshua Tree National Park. Highly Recommended!!

Truly an oasis in the desert!

I almost don’t want to give this place as an amazing review as it deserves because I selfishly want to make sure that it stays available to us. As soon as the word gets out about this property, it’ll be booked up non stop! We have stayed at quite a few different dog friendly short term rental properties in the JT area and this one definitely surpasses them all as far as the quality, amount of private space, and attention to detail. Our dogs loved exploring the fully fenced in property and we felt safe allowing them to do so. There aren’t any sharp, pointy plants in the fenced in area like many other places have and we didn’t see any other dog poop in the yard (PLEASE CLEAN UP AFTER YOUR DOGS) which, unfortunately, is all too common at most dog friendly places. The main bedroom has a HUGE bathroom attached to it and the bed was ridiculously comfortable. It was just my husband, myself and our two dogs, so we didn’t utilize the other 3 bedrooms, but they also looked to have new beds and were very clean. The kitchen had everything we needed to cook our meals and the outside bar area also has a mini fridge which is convenient for when you’re going from the hot tub to the hammocks and back again. Speaking of the hot tub, it was well maintained, clean and heated up quickly. Another bonus about this cool property, it’s only a 5 minute or so drive to the JT Park entrance! We’re already planning our next trip back to the Way Out Ranch!

Way Out in Joshua Tree

A hidden desert gem in a terrific gateway location to Joshua Tree National Park. A very spacious layout with comfy beds and a well appointed kitchen. Nicely decorated with interesting art that has a personal touch. The amazing selection of board and arcade games came in handy during periods of inclement weather. Our grandson and dogs loved exploring the expansive property. Finn did a terrific job of communicating and we look forward to visiting again very soon!

Beautiful Desert Escape

Spent nearly a week at Finn's place in mid December for a small family Christmas gathering. This place was perfect. Beautiful sunrises, fun amenities, and its location close to the park entrance make the Way Out a great choice for any group. Incredible property in an unbeatable location!

We had the most amazing weekend at this fantastic home! Our group of four adults, three kids and one dog had plenty of space to spread out and the many thoughtful details to the home made it very comfortable. We really enjoyed the outdoor space and spent most of our time on the back porch. Our kids enjoyed the arcade games in their room and the board games in the closet. There were plenty of dishes and cooking gear for our big group. Stargazing in the hot tub was a big perk! My husband thinks that the bed in the master bedroom is the most comfortable we’ve ever slept on (including our bed at home!) Everyone in our group slept GREAT! There is a gorgeous hiking trail just a half a mile up the road (we walked, but you can park at the trailhead) and a cute park with a playground if you have kids. Our friends drove through the National Park on their way up from San Diego and commented on how close the entrance is to this house, but once we settled in, we really didn’t want to go anywhere else all weekend! We all appreciated all the small touches (light switches labeled, lots of towels, high quality pillows) that made our stay so easy and delightful. Finn was very communicative and went out of his way to make our trip comfortable. I love the keypad entry so I didn’t have to worry about keys, too. Our kids are already plotting a return trip! Amazing stay at THE WAY OUT RANCH in Joshua Tree!!

My family had an exceptional stay at the Way Out Ranch. The home was immaculate upon arrival, spacious, well stocked, and exceeded our expectations. The home was quiet, private and had a large fenced in yard with its very own Joshua trees. The patio was an incredible perk for morning coffee and night caps at the bar. Mattresses, pillows and linens were new, clean, and comfortable. Every detail was thought out with care. The decor was fun and eclectic which added a level of charm to the home. A great feature of The Way Out Ranch was was its proximity to the park with just a quick drive to the entrance. The home is also walking distance to one of the most beautiful hikes called the Friendly Hills trail. Catch it during the sunrise or sunset. Our daughter enjoyed the rabbits, quail, lizards, and coyote sightings. Finn was great to communicate with. Check in and check out was extremely smooth. We have been to Joshua Tree several times but this BY FAR was our favorite home stay. We look forward to our next trip to JT and would love to stay here again. Thank you !!
