This home is part of a larger complex known simply as Orion. The entire Orion compound consists of this home + an additional home called Orion (Major/Minor) located 100 yards away. While guests can easily walk to the other home from this home, it is completely separate with its own parking, entrance, and amenities. If you are renting out this space, the other home can be rented out to another group. THE SPACE
Orion Joshua Tree was designed with privacy in mind and can accommodates up to 6 guests. This house is the main house, Orion (*Major), and is a spacious, free-standing three bedroom, three bathroom residence organized around a south-facing central courtyard and pool deck. All bedrooms are accessed off the entry breezeway and courtyard providing easy access to the spectacular 70 foot long infinity edge reflecting swimming pool and spa that rises as a jewel-like mirage in seamless continuity with the desert sky. Each bedroom is designed as a stand-alone suite complete with a full bathroom, king-size platform bed and Parachute linens. All bathrooms feature walk-in showers accented with rain shower fixtures.
BED & BATH CONFIGURATIONS
The high ceilings, crisp white painted walls and extensive glazing in all bedrooms allow our guests to feel a connection with the desert while providing a calming interior space. Bathrooms are fitted with custom built walnut sink cabinetry and the roll-in shower floors are clad with responsibly-harvested Cumaru wood planking. The roof skylights, glazed partitions and meticulously selected wall tile provide a light airy vibe within each bathroom.

KITCHEN & DINING
The spacious Orion kitchen fitted with large central waterfall islands allows guests to prepare meals and entertain their fellow guests in comfort. If you prefer to make a cocktail while someone else prepares dinner, Homestead Modern is happy to arrange an intimate experience with a private chef for your stay and/or have premium meats and beverages awaiting your arrival. Both chef's kitchens are fully stocked with modern appliances overlooking large living and dining areas.

ESSENTIALS & ECO-FRIENDLY CONSIDERATION
The most current green building code practices were incorporated into the design and construction of the two houses that inhabit this site. A 9.0 kW solar panel system is used to power both of the houses, roof and exterior walls are heavily insulated and passive solar design features were incorporated to minimize heating and cooling demands. Mini-split heat pump air conditioning units provide energy efficient heating and cooling to all interior areas with individual units provided in each bedroom. Re-use and re-purposing of building materials at various stages of construction allowed for the minimal generation and export of construction waste.

ACTIVITIES/ATTRACTIONS
Visitors come to the High Desert for its unique landscape, culture, and recreational opportunities, as well as for the weather - hot and dry summers and mild winters at our high altitude. Joshua Tree and the communities surrounding the Joshua Tree National Park include Flamingo Heights, Pioneertown, Morongo Valley, Yucca Valley, and Landers. You’ll be close to all the action at Orion Major. Some of our favorite options available to you:
–Joshua Tree National Park: 800,000 acres of mystical beauty - Joshua Tree National Park is one of the world’s most incredible natural desert treasures. Sweeping, grand in scale and populated by granite monoliths and voluptuous rock and boulder formations. This quiet land, conducive to meditation and roaming, was carved by extremes in climate - wind, rain and an ever-present, relentless sun. Diverse forms of plant life are found everywhere, but none as unique or prevalent as the park’s namesake: the Joshua tree, standing majestically across the vast topography.
–Pioneertown: Step back in time to thus rustic Old West-style village. Wander through the historic buildings, visit unique shops, catch a live music performance at Pappy & Harriets, and experience the Wild West charm.
• The Integratron: New age-y healing destination with a sound bath, originally designed by ufologist George Van Tassel with the goal of reversing the aging process.

Guest Access:
You will have the entire house and property to yourself. Only registered guests are allowed, unless specifically agreed upon during the booking process.
While we encourage taking walks on the property and in the National Park, please do not wander into our neighbor's backyards in the surrounding area as you will be trespassing on private property.
Also note, THERE IS ABSOLUTELY NO USE OF OFF HIGHWAY VEHICLES (OHV) IN THIS AREA.
Getting Around:
This is a remote location down dirt roads, so please take it slow. While a car is required to get around, a four wheel drive car is not, but note that roads will often have ruts, particularly after a rain.
Other Things to Note:
• POOL AND HOT TUB HEATING:
- The hot tub is always free to heat.
- However, during the cooler months, there are extra charges for pool heating, see below.
- If you want the pool heated during these months, please let us know 48 hours before you arrive.
Extra Charges for Pool Heating:
May, September: $150 per night
October, April: $200 per night
November, March: $350 per night
December, January, and February: Pool heating not available
No jumping, diving, running or rough play near the pool and hot tub area. No glass can be around the pool and hot tub, there are plastic cups in the kitchen to be used outside. Please mind the quiet hours (no loud noises after 10pm). No intoxicated persons may use the pool or hot tub. NO LIFEGUARD WILL BE ON DUTY - YOU SWIM AT YOUR OWN RISK.
• EVENTS & COMMERCIAL PHOTOSHOOTS: Are not permitted without prior approval, applicable permit and additional fees.
• DOGS: Dogs are welcome and there is a one time fee of $100. Maximum of 2 Dogs allowed. No other types of animals are authorized.
• CELL SERVICE: Cell phone service availability and quality in the high desert varies by service provider. This is particularly true in the more remote areas of Joshua Tree, Pipes Canyon, and Pioneertown. Please be prepared by enabling wifi calling or downloading a VOIP program.
