The Space:

Desert Flora is a two-bedroom, one-bathroom home in Joshua Tree designed around outdoor living, with shaded patios, generous seating and carefully planned desert landscaping. Wood-slat fencing, a wooden pergola and string lights frame the yard, where a hot tub and a cowboy tub sit on the deck and an outdoor shower and bathtub area, an outdoor bed and a fire pit fill out the rest. Inside, white walls, arched niches, light wood floors and high-end furniture keep things bright, and two queen bedrooms and a converted garage lounge give everyone space to spread out.

-Outdoor Amenities-

The outdoor bath is the reason to come: a white freestanding tub under a wooden pergola, with a tiled shower wall beside it, a patch of green underfoot and tall cactus all around. Fill it in the afternoon sun, or come back after dark when the string lights glow and the yard goes quiet.



The deck holds the hot tub, with loungers and the mountains beyond, and the cowboy tub for warm days; it is not an in-ground pool and is closed November through March. Claim the outdoor bed or a lounger under the desert trees with a book, then fire up the propane BBQ and eat at the outdoor dining table on the private patio. When the sky darkens, gather around the fire pit. The backyard is fully fenced.



-Living Area-

The living room opens straight to the backyard, with a cream sofa, woven chairs and a smart TV for slow evenings, plus board games and books on the shelves. Across the yard, the converted garage lounge has white curved sofas, glass doors and its own seating and stools, a second place to gather for a game night or a quiet coffee while the rest of the house sleeps.



-Kitchen and Dining-

White cabinetry, a stone accent wall, arched niches with open shelves and a farmhouse sink make the kitchen a bright place to start the day. It has a stove, oven, refrigerator, dishwasher, kettle and cooking basics, plus a drip coffee maker and a French press. Take breakfast to the dining nook, where a round table sits beneath a woven pendant, and save dinner for the outdoor table.



-Bedrooms and Bathrooms-

Desert Flora has two bedrooms, each with a queen bed. One has a floral throw and an armchair beneath a woven pendant, and the other has a ceiling fan and a rattan headboard. The indoor bathroom has a round mirror and a walk-in shower with a warm wood-look wall, and the outdoor shower and bathtub are waiting whenever you want the sky overhead.

Joshua Tree village and Joshua Tree National Park are the easy outings from Desert Flora, with Pioneertown and Pappy & Harriet's and La Copine for the evenings.



Guest Access:

The entire house and property are yours to enjoy! Please note that a few supply closets stay locked to store rental supplies.

Desert Flora is in Joshua Tree, about 5 minutes from the village's shops and restaurants.

Other Things to Note:

-Cowboy Tub-

The pool at Desert Flora is a cowboy tub, not an in-ground pool. The cowboy tub is unavailable for guest use from November through March.



-House-Specific Rules-

► Please avoid using the hot tub right after it has been serviced, while chemical levels are temporarily higher.



-Pool and Hot Tub Service-

The hot tub is serviced Tuesdays and Fridays, approximately between 9am and 4pm. Please note that these times are estimates and may change slightly due to our technician's busy schedule. He will not approach the house but will go directly through to the backyard.



-Pet Policy-

We welcome your dogs! There is a $100 per dog per stay fee, limit of 2 dogs maximum. Please note on your reservation how many dogs you are bringing. There is an unauthorized pet fee of $500. Please use the provided dog sheets before allowing your dogs on any furniture. Cats and other pets are not allowed due to the owner's severe allergy.

The desert landscape is teeming with wildlife and natural beauty, offering a unique connection to nature, but it's important to be mindful of the creatures and plants that call this area home. Guests may encounter a variety of wildlife during their stay, and while direct encounters with dangerous animals like coyotes, snakes, scorpions, bobcats, mountain lions and other desert dwellers are rare, it is important to be aware of your surroundings and to keep a safe distance from these creatures when spotted. Additionally, the desert is dotted with sharp cacti and other spiky plants. For your safety, always supervise children, pets, ESAs, and service animals while outdoors. Dogs should remain on a leash at all times and be watched closely while outdoors, as they can wander into potentially unsafe situations with wildlife or plants. By booking this property, guests acknowledge the potential for wildlife encounters and assume responsibility for their safety and the safety of their group. By respecting the local environment and staying aware, you can fully enjoy the magic of the desert.

For your security, there are exterior cameras on the property, which monitor vehicles and occupancy. There are no cameras inside the home or facing any private areas, including the hot tub and outdoor bath areas.

Cell phone coverage in the area may be limited or unavailable depending on your carrier. Wi-Fi is available at the property.



-Damage Waiver Policy-

Each reservation requires either a refundable security deposit or a non-refundable damage waiver.
