This property has potential and we had a mixed experience here.
The pros: the hotel is conveniently located off the highway, there is plenty of parking, there is a Publix a short driving/walking distance away, the buffet breakfast is plentiful, the staff (especially Phyllis, Mica, and the gentleman who worked the desk in the evening) were extremely kind, friendly, and helpful, check-in and check-out were easy, bed linens were great.
The cons: the area of town didn't seem great (it looked like homeless people were half a block from the hotel in the evening), the room cleaning was B+, room carpet was older and had some stains, check-in after 11 PM was through a video kiosk and there did not seem to be an attendant on site at that time of the night, the hotel WiFi was very spotty, gym was quite small with older equipment, our room smelled a bit musty, the room seemed in need of a refresh/patching/fresh coat of paint. We didn't look at the pool.
Overall, I think this is a very good value for the price. As a woman staying there with my son I felt a little uncomfortable in the area of town given the front desk didn't seem to be staffed 24 hours a day. I appreciated that the staff were so helpful and offered we could move to a different room given our first room had a musty smell. They were also very accommodating when our travel plans changed and I appreciate the efforts they made to make our stay as pleasant as possible.
