„This is a great place to relax and get acclimated to the high altitudes before going to Machupichuu or returning to Cusco. We stayed here for a night. The food at the restaurant is not local peruvian cuisine, but is not something to miss bcause it was really delicious. They also have a bar where you can order some nice cocktails. We had a short but wonderful stay here.“

„Wir wählten dieses Hotel als Zwischenstopp für unseren Trip nach Machu Picchu und blieben 2 Nächte. Vom Busbahnhof sind es ca. 10 Minuten zum Hotel, welches vor einer herrlichen, grünen Berglandschaft liegt. Von dort aus dauert es mit dem Taxi eine knappe halbe Stunde nach Ollantaytambo, von wo aus es mit dem Zug etwa 1 1/2 Stunden nach Aguas Calientes geht. Die Fahrt kostete 50 Soles. „Es ist eine wunderschöne Anlage mit sehr nettem Personal und feinem Essen. "The Hotel California in Urubamba is the highest building in Urubamba, so that you have a great view over the Sacred Valley. The Hotel is very new, but already seems to be very used and also the quality of the building is not the best. You can see that the Peruvians have not the best construction skills. At the time we visited the hotel, there were not many guests in the hotel. So in three days we only got once the full breakfast buffet. On the other two days they served a reduced menu directly to our table. Additionally the whole dining area was very empty and only equipped with few chairs and tables. So you have a little the feeling of a lost place at a new hotel, which was weird for us. Also there is a restaurant option at the rooftop, but you can't find any information about that beforehand. They only told us that once at the evening. Our room was pretty and comfortable. The shower was hot and had a very good water pressure. In conclusion it was very reasonable, but we expected a little bit more. Maybe they can improve some points to be the best Hotel in town."
