A lovely little get away in this cabin! It’s in a quiet tranquil spot and is the perfect size for 2 people. Loved reading my book in the hammock and enjoying a s’more from the campfire at night.

We loved our stay at this off grid cabin. We looked for somewhere to stay near Hopewell Rocks and on our way to Fundy National Park. This was such a unique restful place my husband wanted to just stay there and not leave the property. But we did make a day trip to Hopewell and it was excellent. I contacted the owner before we arrived to check on what was available for cooking . She was very quick to respond and we found all the basics were covered. Bbq was great , coffee was supplied, using a slow drip individual cup system. We had been travelling for 3 weeks mainly staying where we couldn’t cook. So it was a nice change . The only thing we hadn’t thought about was our electric cooler we had been travelling with. We found a close store where we bought ice to add to it . There was a small power unit available to charge our phones and run a floor lamp . Lots of battery lights around and solar lights outside . The bathroom is spacious and the incinerator toilet is fine with the owners taking care of running it after we left . We also used the small wood stove to just take off the chill when we first arrived. Nice and cosy. If we lived closer it would be a great weekend retreat now and then.

Jack Pine Jr is a charming property, but we found the listing misleading. The bathroom is separate from the main cabin and, while fairly clean, is propane-based (so it functions—and smells—more like an outhouse, as waste remains in the toilet for the duration of the stay). Meanwhile, the “shower” is a camping shower (i.e. a non-heated water bladder, located outdoors). The images of the cabin and listed amenities do not make this clear (one of the outhouse/bathroom photos is even labelled sauna!) Ultimately, we left a day early and weren’t offered any refund or compensation for the remaining night, despite communicating our concerns with the listing being misleading. That said, the cabin itself is quite nice, and if you’re looking for a more rustic experience, this could be a great fit. The host was responsive and the location is very nice. Just be prepared for more camping style amenities.
