„Beim Eintreffen so gegen 18.00 Uhr war nur jemand telefonisch erreichbar und der Schlüssel deponiert. Das Gästehaus liegt an einer sehr befahrenen Straße, die auch bei geschlossenem Fenster gut zuhören war. Das Bett empfanden wir als wenig bequem und das Zimmer an sich war anspruchslos eingerichtet. Das Bad war klein, aber an sich in Ordnung, nur leider gab es kein warmes Wasser. Die Inhaberin tat dies mit einer lapidaren Entschuldigung ab. Ein Frühstück wurde gar nicht erst angeboten. "Mitten in Harrogate, direkt gegenüber von Bettys Tea Rooms — die Lage ist kaum zu toppen. Das viktorianische Gebäude hat echten Charakter, die Bar lädt zum Verweilen ein, und die Zimmer sind wirklich schön. Dass wir beim Check-in noch ein kostenloses Upgrade bekommen haben, hat den Aufenthalt perfekt abgerundet. Sehr gerne wieder!"

"I expect more from a 4 star hotel. The room was lovely and spacious however confetti which was all over the grounds was also in our room. There are 3 lifts one is staff only, one is out of order which according to a frequent guest has been the case for 2 years!! Then they serviced the 3rd lift, leaving my 84 year old parents to negotiate very old wonky stairs, not ideal! We ate in the bar one night because i have my dog with me and the area seemed dated and unloved. The food was nice if served in a lack luster way. Again with breakfast the food was great but I can't imagine sitting in the bar to eat, the buffet is so far away my food would have been cold before I got to the table!! So we took it in turn to eat so one of us could stay with the dog. There is a small area to the left as you enter which could be used as a dog friendly area.... well away from the buffet, I see that often in other restaurants and hotels! The spa area was very pleasant and a welcome break to relax on our long journey. Also the location and grounds were lovely, sitting on the terrace in the early morning sun and quiet was also a highlight. In summary dated and unloved but a perfectly quiet and relaxing break from a long journey."
