My fiancee and i booked a stay at this loft for 3 nights. Upon arrival, we discovered that the loft had not been cleaned whatsoever from the previous tenants. This included filthy floors, human hair in the bathroom, dirty towels and sheets spread throughout the apartment, etc. After unsuccessfully reaching the host, we contacted the owner, who was able to get the cleaning company to the loft within an hour or so. Not a great start.
The actual stay at the loft was fine, nothing spectacular, but nothing really to complain about.
5 days after we left, the host of the VRBO contacted us and asked for a $150 check to cover "damages" caused by our dog. We immediately responded to Craig, and asked him to call us to talk through the situation, as our dog has no history of causing any damages, and has stayed in VRBO’s/hotels frequently. The next day, Craig, decided to send the invoice through VRBO, and did not contact us for a few more days, after we had messaged asking him to call us.
Finally, almost 2 weeks after we had left Gulf Shores, i received a call from the host, where he was immediately accusatory and aggressive over the phone call. Craig made up multiple stories, claimed that the loft was checked and inspected consistently (even though we showed up and it was a disaster), and was extremely disrespectful and condescending throughout our phone call. Be EXTREMELY cautious booking at this location.
