„Everything was clean. The modern kitchen offered everything that we needed. The living room was small but cosy with the log burner. „Lovely little base for exploring everything the Lakes has to offer. Apartment lovely and clean, and ideally located with several shops and eateries nearby. Parking was fine for us with it being a quieter time of year (street parking) but I would imagine this would be a bit trickier in the busier months. "The historic building is fabulous, the atmosphere great, it's the pole position in Windermere, great view on the lake. I wonder if it is necessary that during the summer season the building is under construction. With scaffoldings in front of the windows, some parts of the building beside the entrance in bad condition, and even a corridor we had to pass everyday was stuffed with furniture, cardboard boxes ... This is not the atmosphere for holidays. Due to repairs on some wires, the internet connection broke down every night. The location is great, but there's some work to do to bring it back to its standard. "

"Mitten im Ort gelegen, aber dennoch ruhig. Mit dem kostenlosen Parkplatz hinter dem Hotel hat es auch jeden Abend geklappt, kann aber schon voll werden. Es gibt aber wohl auch noch einen zweiten Parkplatz, den wir aber nicht gebraucht haben. Meiner Frau hat der Pool super gefallen, gepflegt, sauber und ansprechend gestaltet. Der Whirlpool hat uns beiden sehr gut gefallen. Frühstück war sehr gut, das Abendessen im Hotel hatten wir nur einmal genossen. War jetzt nicht schlecht, aber irgendwie fehlte der Pfiff, da sind wir lieber im Ort Essen gegangen und im Zweifelsfalle geht Fish & Chips halt immer. Sehr schönes Zimmer mit uriger Einrichtung, fehlt eigentlich nur noch Sherlock Holmes der einmal vorbeischaut. Wenn es draußen warm wird, dann kann es auch im Zimmer super warm/heiß werden. Dadurch das wir ein Zimmer mit Balkon hatten, konnten wir aber gut durchlüften und so das Zimmer zum Schlafen auf erträgliche Temperaturen bekommen."
