„Das Haus liegt ruhig und etwas abseits der anderen Häuser im kleinen, beschaulichen Ort Thorpe bei Ashbourne. Um das Haus herum Wiesen und Berge, sehr gute Wandergelegenheiten in alle Richtungen. Das Haus war erstklassig ausgestattet und wunderschön. Der Pool und die Schwimmhalle waren durchweg beheizt und wahnsinnig toll! Ray war unglaublich hilfsbereit und nett! Wir würden definitiv wieder hier her kommen.“

„I was a little concerned that check in info, including teh address, was to be provided only 3 hours before check-in time, but in the event it all worked out fine.

„Large airy apartment. Noise from the street could be heard, but we were tired from site seeing so it hardly disturbed our sleep. Lively part of town, lots of places to eat and drink . We walked to everything and left the car in Cavendish Road carpark 3 minutes away for £6 per 24 hours. “

„really comfortable stay - the cottage is cosy but has high ceilings so no banged heads and it doesn't feel cramped. beds really comfy. fantastic location - amazing walks from outside the front door. lovely pub in the village down the hill. and the owners run the tea room next door so left us a lovely plate of cakes on arrival! “

„Excellent studio apartment with all the facilities you'd need for a short stay, in a clean, modern building and at a great price. Great central location and good for trams, especially if travelling to Tramlines festival. Lots of extra facilities in building like a laundry room which was very useful. Would definitely stay again next time in Sheffield.“

„Absolutely beautiful cottage full of essentials for our stay. The whole setting is stunning with the gardens and surrounding areas.
Plenty of local pubs and restaurants close by for food as well as supermarkets to grab snacks for the house.
We went to Gulliver’s kingdom 20 mins away and Alton towers 1 hour away across our 2 days stay which were both easily accessible.
There is a wide range of sizes of cottage and homes to choose from all of which looked amazing. “

„The property itself was ok but it is joined to a building site and all you hear is stihl saws loud music and shouting and swearing from the builders. The 9 pm noise curfew is a joke, bangra until the early hours. Stay Angels were no help at the point of complaint, nothing we can do was their mantra.“

"Champneys Mottram Hall – Wellness Retreat or Overpriced Sauna?
We were really looking forward to a relaxing night at Champneys Mottram Hall. For over £200 a night, you’d expect comfort. Instead, we got a masterclass in how not to do hospitality.
We asked to see a room first — after reading quite a few bad reviews (which turned out to be accurate). The room they showed us was fine… but then it wasn’t available anymore. So we booked another one, slightly cheaper, still overpriced.
It wasn’t even ready, despite being listed as available online. We were sent to the restaurant to wait, where the only food was burgers and fries — at a wellness resort. Classy.
When we finally got the room key, we stepped into what felt like a furnace — at least 40°C, no air conditioning, barely openable windows, and a tiny desk fan trying to cool it down. Outside the window? A wall of deafening industrial ventilators.
The room was loud, boiling, and totally unfit for sleep or rest. If I wanted to be roasted alive next to jet engines, I’d have booked a Ryanair tarmac picnic.
Save your money. This isn’t luxury — it’s a loud, sweaty disappointment dressed up as a spa break.

Die Zimmer sind nur ein wenig müde. Alles funktionierte und war sauber, aber das Dekor und die Einrichtung sind in die Jahre gekommen. Das Frühstück war gut und im Vergleich zu dem, was man im Stadtzentrum bekommt, recht günstig."

"Wir waren sehr zufrieden mit dem Hotel. Alle waren hilfsbereit und freundlich. Wir hätten uns jedoch über eine insgesamt größere Auswahl beim Frühstück gefreut. Das Angebot an Brot, Aufschnitt, Marmelade etc war ein wenig klein. Wir würden aber auf jeden Fall nochmal hier ein Zimmer buchen!"

"Classy Hotel in an 18th Century Georgian architectural landmark which was saved by the Hotel Company. Went there first on a rushed business trip and went back half a year later to enjoy it finally with my partner. The pool is warm and not exactly for a sporty swimmer, but is nice with the opportunity to swim outdoors. Beds and Breakfast are excellent and up to the price. After finding the south of England more and more crowded, the Peak District is an area I was happy to discover."
