„Excellent place to stay to explore the eastern portion of the Shawnee National Forest. We used it as a launching point to see the Garden of the Gods, Cave in Rock, and Dixon Springs State Park. Wish we had another day to do more exploring. The cabin is secluded, so stock up on groceries and charcoal for the grill before you arrive. „Perfect for a quiet, getaway weekend. In the middle of it all in regard to hiking around Shawnee National Park. Absolutely loved the fire pit, which was stocked with wood. Hot tub was great for relaxing after hiking all day. Would recommend for any couple that enjoys the outdoors, or a couple like us that just wanted to get away from Chicago for a few days.“

„Great little getaway! If you’re looking for a quiet relaxing weekend this is definitely it. Pictures don’t do this place justice, and everything is extremely well taken care of and maintained. Make sure to bring your fishing pole and swimming gear, the clean pond is ideal for both. Traveled here with my wife and our two boys, 10yo and 5mo, and it was just right for us. „Pros: quiet little cabin, tucked just inside from a street. Clean & cozy. Cons 1. Mattress: It was too soft & saggy in the middle. Another reviewer mentioned this too. I wasn't able to get a restful night's sleep. Either my knees or neck would be sore in the mornings 2. Not enough brightness / lights: The interior feels dark - with an okay ceiling light, where 1-2 if the bulbs would slowly go dim as tine went on. Kitchen light was brigther.“
