The barndominium had several pluses. The living room with the leather couches is very comfy. The large dining tables are perfect for meals and games. However there was a mustiness inside. Ants found their way onto the food bar every night. The drinking water dispenser was empty.and the tap water tastes like pool water the towels were old. And the bedrooms tiny. There was a hole in the bathroom door covered with a poster on the outside. But evident on the inside. Despite these drawbacks, everyone enjoyed being together. And it was so quiet. We all slept so soundly each night

Absolutely loved our stay! We had our two dogs who were able to run and play freely. We went hiking at nearby state parks and had amazing food. The location was great. The property was amazing, we even had a fire both nights. Thanks so much! We will definitely book again.

Great location. Close to Garden of the Gods, Little Grand Canyon and Cave in Rock. Loved the land this farm house is on. The little diner in Golconda was awesome. Highly recommend this property if traveling to Southern Illinois.

Stay was great wish we had more time. Quiet and secluded my kids loves being able to run. My father was able to take a lot of pictures. The internet was slow in the front room tv rarely worked. Did find a lot of dust on floors. Close to a lot of places and some stores. I will look at renting again in the future.

Plenty spacious and we enjoyed walking the farm, checking out the creek, and sitting outside. It was great to be able to bring our lab. However, she couldnt get settled in to sleep at night with all the animal trophies. I had never considered that being a problem, so we checked out a night early so we could all get some sleep. Lol. This was conveniently located to several of my favorite hiking areas and places to eat. It gave us time together as a family while my son was home, which was the goal. I'd stay again. Walking the ATV road I found fossils and two arrowheads. That was cool!

We truly enjoyed our stay. We fit comfortably, loved the wide open spaces to explore. We hiked the grounds, fished the pond and played. It is a working farm so expect critters. We would stay again. There is so much to do within in 30 minutes. This time we hiked Bell Smith Springs and watched the sunset at Garden of the Gods. Easy check in and check out.

The property was as described and looked just like the pictures. Large outside area to play games (we brought our badminton game and had a family tournament), lighted patio for our nightly card games and fire pit for roasting marshmallows. Inside was clean and comfortable and had all the necessities. Private and secluded, yet not far from town. We really enjoyed our stay! Thank you for sharing your property with us!

We booked this place a year ago to watch the eclipse with our son and his family. It was perfect! We enjoyed cooking out and exploring the property. The best part was watching the eclipse together and away from the crowds. The house worked out great for all of us to stay together. Would definitely recommend!!

We stayed at the Barndominium Farmhouse for the weekend gateaway with family and friends. GOOD: It is a beautiful farmhouse and all amenities. The farmhouse itself is very spacious and have a small pond, cave and other activities (lots of firewood). The house was very well decorated. The host was very responsive and helpful. PLACE: It is located about 30 minutes from Garden of Gods and Rim Rock Trails. FEW QUIRKS: The entrance of the farmhouse goes through a small creek, so if you have a low ground clearance vehicle, it may not work nice. Also, the house is listed as 10-person home. There are three bedrooms with queen beds. There was another room with a sofa bed. But I would not consider it 10-person home, more like 7-8 people. It also has two full bathrooms. But one of the bathrooms sink (as of March 2024), was really small and at an awkward and inconvenient position right next to the toilet. It should be improved, if the house is to host more people. SUMMARY Overall, it is a great farmhouse with lots of potential. We had a great time with the family, kids.

Home is very welcoming & cozy. We stayed over Christmas weekend. The owners had decorated Christmas trees up! Bless the thoughtful owners who left 4 wrapped gifts, under the tree, for the 4 children staying with us. That was such an unexpected, much appreciated, surprise! The property is beautiful and we would love to stay again!

We enjoyed staying here. Loved the hiking especially the pond. We did notice mouse poop in some of the kitchen drawers and the living room. We also heard critters in the walls when we were in bed. The sheets were also visibly dirty in one of the bedrooms.
