Avalon Sunrise our enchanting cottage in the heart of Glastonbury

We welcome you to Sunrise ~ our new & lovingly created 2 bedroom home with private garden (in a little mews).. in the beating heart of Glastonbury!

Sunrise has a unique energy & exudes the spirit of Avalon... so let it be your home from home, allowing you to take in a little bit more of the wonder & magic, you came here for.

Whatever reason for your visit, you will have everything you need & more in this wonderful, imaginative & charming little cottage of ours. ✨ 🌈 ✨

Sunrise has been artistically furnished & styled by Fine Art Photographer Emma Joanne whose work appears on the walls.

Imaginatively created in a classic retro style with a modern twist, Sunrise has evolved from drawing upon music, design & furnishing infleunces from the 1950-70's.

Blending a palette of both strong & muted colours of the rainbow, each room represents a field at the renowned Glastonbury Music & Arts festival, which takes place just a few miles away in Pilton, after the Summer Solstice each year.

A music lover herself, Emma Joanne has been inspired to design the space with flair & functionality in mind. Referencing classic European Art & furniture with Bohemian, organic & pre-loved touches, the intention is to leave a sustainable impression on each guest, as they absorb the lovely energy, within this unique home.

We are lovers of colour, art & of the celebration of life! Each room at Sunrise has been themed according to the different areas of Glastonbury festival...

Shangri~La - The Lounge

A relaxing, cozy, communal space, with patio doors overlooking & opening into the garden. There is a comfortable Chesterfield velvet sofa, several other occasional chairs & a 1970's swivel chair for aesthetic & fun!

This room is equipped with board games, a bluetooth speaker & a classic record player with a collection of vinyl (coming soon!) to slow things down & enjoy songs as they were meant to be played & appreciated.

The dining table with benches (seats 6) is situated here & can be pulled out or pushed back with ease, when needed.

There is a small screen TV mounted on the wall for those who would like to use it with Netflix for streaming.

The emphasis here is on relaxation / family time, although by its very name & nature, this room is multi-use.

Green Fields ~ The Kitchen

When designing this room EJ wanted to offer guests the calming feeling of being immersed in nature.
Along with a sage green theme, there are copper features & rust elements, to compliment the natural vs man made materials used & real live edge wood for artistic effect.

The kitchen is fully equipped with all utensils & crockery plus most mod-cons incl a large intergrated fridge / separate freezer, a washing machine / separate dryer & microwave.

We also supply herbal / tea / coffee & basic cooking ingredients for your convenience.

The oven has an induction hob & is fan assisted, cooking food perfectly & intelligently every time.

Ascend or decend the stairs & watch the stairs change colour as you do... note: we contemplated the idea of each stair chiming it’a own note when stepped upon (akin to a piano key!) but we're still working on that! :)

Avalon ~ Cozy double room

With a copper framed bed, along with the most comfortable mattress & bedding, you are sure to have a relaxing, peaceful time alone or with a partner in this wonderful, dream like room.

Toned in rustic copper, orange & green hues, it is the perfect little hideaway, as you reflect on your day in Avalon & drift off into dreamland.

Avalon is fitted with both day / night & black out blinds, to help you on your journey as you transition between the two!

Leftfield ~ Twin room

The quirky left of centre room, as you ascend the stairs is our twin room, known as 'Leftfield.'

There are two beds here, 1 x King single (imported from down-under!) & a standard single.

The King on the left (as it suggests) is the larger of the two, offering more space & comfort for those who need it.

An open wardrobe & drawers make good use of the room with plenty of space for hanging your garms.

Arcadia ~ Bathroom

Industrial, dark, sleek, modern & functional, that's how we like our bathroom!

With a nod to Arcadia in design, our wet room has a wonderful rainfall shower, a heated towel rail & a feature electric blue sink, just for attention!

Its a simple / minimalist room, but does so much towards your own personal transformation.. ;)


Extra info:

A whole house water filtration system is installed, to soften the hard water which comes directly from Cheddar Gorge.

This means that all the water from the taps is filtered & safe to drink, even the water you bathe in.

All bedding & towels are provided.
