This lakefront "Sunset Beach" travel trailer comfortably sleeps 5-6 people and includes a full bath, a bedroom with a queen size bed, a pull out couch queen size bed in the living room, and twin-size bunk beds. It is plugged in to an electrical outlet (no generators needed or allowed) and is plumbed to well water.
All bed linens, pillows, comforters, sleeping bags, kitchen & bath towels are provided, as well as a limited supply of paper towel, toilet paper, tin foil, etc. There is new flooring in the living area and the kitchen includes ample counter space, fridge with freezer, stove, oven, microwave, dish soap, coffee pot (includes complimentary coffee), toaster, and anything you might need to make a meal, including pots, pans, dishes, cooking oil, seasonings, and utensils. Heat, air conditioning, hot and cold water, grill propane, and free wifi included.
Outdoors, there is a grill, chairs, and a picnic table. You only need to bring your groceries and clothes! The travel trailer is fully equipped and available to rent by the night (2 night min.), the week, the month, or the season. There is plenty of room for parking trucks and boat trailers. Lake Michigan is great for swimming, fishing, and boating during Summer. Our Fall colors are spectacular!
There is a sandy area to sit or play. The beach is rocky so water shoes are recommended. It's a great place to sit next to the lake and watch the boats and wildlife!
The travel trailer sits on a lot that has woods in the back and the lake in the front. There are three campers on the lot, but only the 425' of frontage and the kayaks are shared- all units include their own outdoor amenities. You will receive a welcome guide prior to your arrival. We live on the property next door should any issues arise.
My family's commercial fishing business is next door as well- you are welcome to check it out!
If you need assistance, you can message through VRBO or come to the house. We do have a White Lab (Daisy) and a Chihuahua/Jack Russell Terrier mix (Peanut) who are supposed to stay in our yard, but may wander to the adjacent property- they are friendly although the little one barks. We will try to prevent them from visiting!
Other things to note
There are multiple islands to boat or kayak around. If you don’t have a boat, you can also fish from shore or from multiple docks. You can sit on the beach and watch the commercial fishing boats, bald eagles, swans, pelicans, geese, and a variety of ducks. The beach is somewhat rocky so water shoes are recommended. The Lake Michigan water is crystal clear and great for snorkeling or catching crayfish. Other wildlife commonly seen in Fairport include whitetail deer, rabbits, fox, and turkeys. Stargazing is popular here and you may even see the Northern Lights!
Activities in Fairport include: fishing, biking, swimming, boating, kayaking, atv riding, and hiking.
There are several parks within an hour’s drive, including the famous Kich-iti-kipi (Big Springs). Pictured Rocks National Lakeshore, on Lake Superior in Munising, is 68 miles from Fairport.
Local dining establishments include Sherry’s Port Bar (5 miles away in Fayette), Garden House Bar & Grill (15 miles away in Garden) and the Dock Bar & Grill (16 miles away in Garden). Also in Garden, there is a public golf course (Garden Golf), a gas station and grocery store (Mini Mart), and a coffee shop/pastry/sandwich (The Garden Grove).
The Garden Farmer’s Market takes place on Saturdays from 9:00am-12:00pm. Fresh whitefish and smoked whitefish are available next door at Peterson Brother’s Fishery.
