Summary:
Escape the hectic and head to the island to enjoy this stunningly remodeled home just a short jaunt to the Gulf waters and sand!

Start off your day with that morning cup of Joe while taking in the surrounding tropical foliage from the multiple elevated decks The birds are singing, the sun is shining and your day at the beach awaits!

The Space:
After you've had your fill of the sun, sand and surf, head back to the house for a relaxing late lunch or dinner. Use the provided charcoal grill to prepare your BBQ favorites while you hang at the large outdoor bar. Be sure to have that cool tasty beverage topped off and in hand!

While you are "chilling and grilling", let the kiddos and/or pups run around the fully fenced yard and use up that last bit of energy. It's a perfect Lollygaggin' by the Beach experience!

The Neighborhood:
High-end neighborhood, Pirates' Beach is located about 10 minutes south of the heart Galveston offering a plethora of restaurants, grocery, and activities. Public beach access is right in the neighborhood and Mario's Pizza is right across the street. Waterman's Restaurant & Marina is just 1.7 miles from home.

Every home is fully and professionally cleaned after each guest stay. In addition, all of our homes feature luxury hotel-quality/high thread count on all sheets, bedding, and bath towels which are replaced upon every turnover including the duvet covers and shams (we've heard not every company does this, and we think that's just gross). We take clean seriously! When you rent a 979 home, you'll also receive the 'comforts of home' guest welcome starter supply of shampoo, shower gel, conditioner, tp and paper towels, dishwasher and clothes washer pods. We want your stay to be as easy as you do, and the 979 Crew aims to deliver on that commitment. We love our island guests!

🐾 PUP-FRIENDLY:
Bring Fido(s)! We welcome your furry friends (aka family members). Up to 2 well-behaved dogs are allowed at this home, subject to approval and a non-refundable pet fee ($125 for 1 dog, extra $75 for 2) per stay.

WIFI/TV SERVICE:
Our properties include WIFI/Internet and TV service for your streaming services. Due to our location (Island living is a whole other way of life), service may be unpredictable or spotty, and repair times can be delayed. While we will do everything we can to ensure these items are in good working order before your arrival, please note, these services may not be as consistent as they are in your area. So grab your favorite people, ditch the electronics, and spend the day at our beautiful beaches!

979 VACATION PROPERTY SERVICES:
All 979 rental home follow local and state tax rules. Reservations may be booked up to 365 days in advance. Please send inquiry and details if more than a year out as rates and availability may not be updated. Each reservation includes applicable taxes, a cleaning fee, $1M liability protection and $10K damage insurance - and good news, No Security Deposit Required!

CANCELLATION POLICY:
For any new reservation, you may cancel within 24 hours of booking and receive a full refund. Some exceptions may apply for last-minute reservations.

After that, cancel at least 30 days before your check-in and receive a refund in your original form of payment less the booking fee.

Reservations made on 3rd party channels/OTAs such as Airbnb, VRBO, Booking, Hopper etc may be subject to their terms and conditions which may be different than 979's. Please reference the site where you originally reserved your stay.

Almost perfect!

I stayed here in May 2025 with my husband, 1 year old son and my Labrador retriever. We absolutely loved the house! It looked just like the pictures and you could tell it had been thoroughly cleaned before we arrived. I had to knock one star off because there is a big safety concern with the deck. Several of the balusters were loose (visibly unattached from the bottom of the deck) and if you tapped them, they fully pushed away from the deck. I couldn’t let my 1 year old walk around on the deck which was a huge bummer. If this issue is resolved, we would stay here again!

Very clean property!

Fantastic Stay!! Honestly the cleanest house I have ever stayed at in Galveston. There was an issue with the ac and it was fixed within an hour. Loved the fenced yard! Would book with them again!

Yearly Walker Galveston Trip 2023

Enjoyed our stay in Galveston as always. The home was very nice and very clean. The beach is about a 10 minute walk. The beds were very comfortable and the A/C worked great. The fenced in yard was a big plus for us since we had our fur babies with us. Wish we were still there.

Beautiful updated house close to beach and easy drive to Galveston

House was perfect! Even better than pics. Everything looks brand new. Walk to beach was super easy and fenced in upper deck, below deck and yard were fantastic since we had our fur babies with us. House was small but open and didn’t feel crowded at all. We didn’t need them but the double bunks in one of the other rooms seemed extra tall and roomy. Only complaint I have and it wasn’t a problem, was the washer and dryer were super loud and we had to be selective when we did laundry because you couldn’t hear the living room tv. Minor issue. Don’t like doing laundry on vacay anyway…lol. Literally everything else was great! Oh and the primary bed was so comfy we are thinking about buying the same one! We will definitely rent here again

Great Spring Break Stay

Me, my wife, and kids loved this property. By the second day they were already calling it home. Each room had its own tv which the kids loved. Perfect for when me and the wife want to wind down after a day of exploring the island. House is very open. We used the fire pit downstairs for s’mores one night. Garage had beach chairs (like 6 of them) so no need to bring yours of staying here. Master bed was super comfortable. Can’t wait to stay here again!

Nicely updated property. Plenty of room.

The home had been recently updated so everything was clean and new. There was actually decent cookware in place too. As stated, six minute walk to beach. We had two other couples join us for part of the day Saturday and there was plenty of room at the big table and bar for everybody to eat. Only a small family sized charcoal grill, so I had to cook everything in three batches. I will definitely come back to this house with the family again.
