The lighthouse on Gabo Island guards the eastern entrance to Bass Strait in #Australia. It is an active navigation lighthouse and weather station for the Australian Bureau of Meteorology. It was built in 1853 from red granite sourced on the island. The wind blew down the windbreak wall, so buttresses were added for stability. Chance Brothers & Co. - Lighthouse Engineers & Constructors from near Birmingham, England commenced building the lighthouse in 1860. Angenehme Zimmer in toller Umgebung, super Ausstattung, nettes Team. Auf jeden Fall einen Besuch wert und für einen kurzen Aufenthalt sehr gut geeignet. Besonders hervorzuheben ist das kleine, aber feine inkludierte Frühstückspaket für jeden Gast.

Nette Unterkunft für eine Nacht in ruhiger Umgebung. Beim BBQ am Abend sind die Kangaroos zu Gast und auch der Kookaburra. Die Cabins sind im alten Stil haben aber alles was nötig ist.
