The lighthouse on Gabo Island guards the eastern entrance to Bass Strait in #Australia. It is an active navigation lighthouse and weather station for the Australian Bureau of Meteorology. "Blue Sky" Gabo Island Lighthouse Reserve is operated by Parks Victoria, who can be contacted for overnight stays in the Caretaker's accommodation. Chance Brothers & Co. - Lighthouse Engineers & Constructors from near Birmingham, England commenced building the lighthouse in 1860. Nette Unterkunft für eine Nacht in ruhiger Umgebung. Beim BBQ am Abend sind die Kangaroos zu Gast und auch der Kookaburra. Die Cabins sind im alten Stil haben aber alles was nötig ist.
