Dieses Ferienhaus in Fernwood, PEI, liegt nur wenige Schritte von Ihrem eigenen roten Sandstrand entfernt. Ein lustiger Ort, um im Sand zu spielen, nach Muscheln zu suchen und vielleicht die Seehunde zu sehen, die in der Brandung spielen. Ein komplett restauriertes Haus aus dem Jahrhundert verfügt über 2 Schlafzimmer plus Höhle, 2 Badezimmer, Wäschemöglichkeiten, eine voll ausgestattete Küche und 2 Wohnzimmer. Ein großes Deck hat eine Südlage, von der man leicht den schönen Meerblick und spektakuläre Sonnenuntergänge genießen kann, während die andere Nordterrasse einen ruhigen Rückzugsort zum Lesen oder Beobachten der Tierwelt bietet. Die zentrale Lage ist nur 15 Autominuten von der Confederation Bridge entfernt und bietet Tagesausflüge zu den vielen "must see" PEI-Zielen und Aktivitäten in der Nähe.

Absolutely stunning ocean view. The cottage was well furnished and there were lots of things to do - books, puzzles, games etc. We did encounter some issues. The information binder was missing and it was quite chilly and we couldn’t get any heat - despite several email requests we never heard back from anyone. In addition, there were many flies and the screens did not fit well so we couldn’t open any windows for air. Also, the bathroom sink drains were smelly and drained poorly. The kettle didn’t work and the stove top as well.

We had just the best time here!!! I can't say enough about the sunsets, they were what artists aspire to capture through various mediums. Just BEAUTIFUL!Quiet, private, and completely as advertised. 100% recommend if you're going to PEI.

Emplacement et terrasse magnifiques entre les champs de blé et au bord de la mer. A moins de 30 minutes du centre urbain Summerside. Maison très bien tenue, décorée et fonctionnelle avec jeux et guides touristiques Lits confortables. Pourrait y avoir un peu plus d'assiette et bols et débarbouillettes pour une famille de 6. La cuisine est très bien équipée sinon avec bbq. Séjour parfait. Merci!

Magnifique petite pause à l’IPE

Nous avons adoré notre séjour de 3 nuits dans cette maison. La vue de la mer et la petite plage à marrée basse sont magnifiques. Nous y avons fait du paddle bord et les enfants ont adoré attraper des crabes et des Bernard-L’ermite. La maison est très bien équipée, particulièrement la cuisine. La vue de la salle à manger est exceptionnelle. La maison est décorée avec soin et nous a vraiment procuré une sensation de vacances. Nous avons aimé nous réveiller au bruit des vagues le matin. C’est un site un peu éloigné des endroits touristiques de l’île, mais personnellement cela nous convenait, car étant sur un « road-trip » depuis quelques jours déjà, nous avons surtout profité de l’emplacement en soit. Seul petit bémol, beaucoup de moustiques le soir, donc apportez un bon chasse-moustique.

Fantastic!

We absolutely loved our stay. The house was even better than we hoped for. We sat on the back deck and watched the sun setting over the water every evening and watched the sunrise from the front deck every morning. We traveled all over the island and were happy to have the house to come back to each afternoon. We appreciated having the long set of steps to get us down to the beach. Thank you for a wonderful place to spend our vacation.

Breathtaking Property and Comfortable Beds

This is an authentic east coast accommodation from the charming country house to the rugged seascape! From the deck, we enjoyed watching multiple amazing sunsets over the ocean and foxes exploring the seashore. The location was perfect for day trips to Charlottetown and the north, green gables, and red sands shores. As for the house, the beds were extremely comfortable! We had amazing sleeps during our stay. It would have been nice if there had been sugar for the coffee. We stopped to get groceries but did not expect we would need sugar. We also spent a good 20 minutes searching for the “welcome binder” when we first arrived, only to find out it went missing after contacting the property manager who originally told us to read said binder for all of the details and expectations. The listing indicated there were two bathrooms, but one of them only has a toilet (not a full bathroom). Lastly, while the accommodation was perfect for my husband and I, it was not ideal for our elderly parents. The yard is uneven and all of the bedrooms are located upstairs where the steps are steep. I would stay there again myself, but would not recommend anyone unsteady on their feet to stay there. The parents also hoped for television, but it was not a requirement for my husband and I. The WiFi did not work everywhere in the house, but I was happy to have any sort of signal.

Beautifully maintained, fully equipped ocean front property. Charming and cozy inside with a gentle ocean breeze most days. Lovely, red sand beach that’s perfect for beach combing and swimming. Fabulous covered porch that allows outdoor time in light rain. Private location. A true oasis for our family. Highly recommended. Would definitely stay again.

Quiet and Cozy

This was our 2nd trip to PEI and we brought our 3 girls this time. This house was very private and has steps down to the ocean so we could explore the rocky shores. The house is very cute and lots of little places to sit and read or eat or relax. It had everything we needed and anytime I was looking for something, there it was. Extra cozy blankets, puzzles and games, a chair to set your bag on, etc. Plus plenty of paper products, spices, etc. I will say there are areas where the ceiling is very low and the floors are a little uneven but you get used to it after a couple days. The location is about 15-20 minutes from main roads so plan to drive 30 minutes to Victoria-by-the-sea and Summerside, 45 to Cavendish, and an hour to Charlottetown. But we wanted something private and near the water so it was fine with us. Overall it was a cute little cottage that our family would come back to every night and I will always have fond memories of our little house by the sea.

Wonderful PEI Beach House

This property looked cozy and relaxing on the VRBO site and it did not disappoint. The views from the cottage are spectacular and having the staircase down to the beach was great. Very clean, cozy, relaxing and peaceful as there were very few people on that stretch of the road. The cottage is well stocked with modern appliances but still retains a very rustic feel. We will be back!

Beautiful house right on the ocean. Spectacular view and one of the best surprises were the stairs right down to the beach! They were not in the description when we booked. The house is fully equipped and beautifully decorated. Highly recommend!

Slice of Paradise at Red Leaf Cottage

Red Leaf Cottage was the perfect getaway location for our group. The Cottage was quaint - with a definite character and cozy feel. We appreciated the well-equipped kitchen that had enough space for us all. The two porches - one ocean-front and one road/field-front allowed us to enjoy the outdoors regardless of the wind or temperatures. When the tide was out, many hours were spent walking, and searching for sea glass. We would absolutely return to Red Leaf. *** The host - Dean Smith - is incredibly helpful and responds immediately. He is considerate and resourceful. Very much appreciated!

Charming beach house with amazing views!

We could not have asked for a better location during our stay. The sunsets were amazing and the cove was great for viewing wildlife. We even had a fox “visit” is on the deck! Would highly recommend a stay here and hope to come back again!!

This is a beautiful cottage on a private, beach front property. It has a beautiful covered deck on the water side of the property which meant we were able to be outside even during the rainy day we experienced. The cottage is very well stocked with everything you need for your stay. If I was looking to be critical it would be that I would have liked beach access from the property. Overall, we really enjoyed our stay here. I would book this again in the future.

Stay here, you’ll love it!

We absolutely loved our stay here! The home is historic, beautifully set up and decorated, spectacular views. We had two boys age 4 and 1 and were comfortable there. Excellent breezes through the windows and there were also fans. Lots of towels. Soap, laundry supplies, spices, coffee filters, etc. Bring your own shampoo. Games, movies, books. Had an issue with the wifi but it was resolved within a day. Living room furniture covers were not white when we there and we were relived because of our young kids! Very short drive to Chelton. The renovations at this house are just beautiful and the view stunning. Really enjoyed exploring the beach at low tide (access is just two doors down). It is by far the beat place we’ve stayed at on the island! We would come back in a heartbeat and miss it already.
