„What an amazing week of rest and relaxation! The setting is beautiful with a wonderful view. It is set back in the timbers with complete privacy, yet convenient and close to activities if so desired. There in an orchard store with wonderful in-season produce. The owner (and staff) are all so friendly! We are hopeful to book again and highly recommend others who are looking for a get-away vacation!“

„My family of 14 people needed a place for all of us to stay for the holidays. The twin turrets was a great fit for what we needed. Everyone had their own bed, the bathrooms took a little time to get showers scheduled, since there are only 2 showers, but it worked out. The home was fun to explore inside and out. We went for some walks on the trails, enjoyed watching the ducks and geese, or just looking out at the lake. So peaceful! “

„My wife really liked the rustic feel of the place and was impressed with how clean it was at the same time. For me, it felt like a retirement property that I’d had for years, it was very welcoming. We didn’t take advantage of the water (kayaks, fishing, etc..) but we had friends over and used the grill to cook. We’d take our dogs outside in the back of the house and there was never any problem. „You can tell Jill really loves this place and it is a cozy little retreat. Be warned there is no internet or cable. There are some tv channels but many don't come in well. There is cell service. That said, it is so cute!! There are so many antiques inside and out to look at. The two cats are adorable. The donkey is so friendly and feeding him carrots was a highlight. „We had a family wedding at Pebble Creek Farm, just 6 miles away from The Roost. Ten of us including aunts and uncles and nieces and nephews had plenty of room at the house to get ready for the wedding, and to gather for snacks and games in the kitchen afterwards. Everything was really clean and comfortable. We would love to come back here and stay for a winery weekend! “

„Ashley was always quick to respond with questions that I had! We had everything we needed and the house was ready for us! The kitchen was an open concept with the living room, which was very nice! The house situated on a dead end and it was very quiet and peaceful! Nice to set on the front porch where you could see the lake and watch the deer! Would definitely recommend this nice home!“

„We were an extended family (infants to adults) getting together for a long weekend. The house is exactly as described and as the pictures show. The absolute best VRBO home we have ever stayed in! The house includes everything you may ever need and would have to go buy at other rentals. The space was ample and we were all able to sleep comfortably in a bed or a rollaway bed provided. There are plenty of towels for the pool and hot tub. We spent so much time outside in the back yard ...

„We were extremely happy with this rental and loved the extra perks of ice, water, coffee, and snacks provided by the owner. What a gem! We will definitely make this our go to for overnight stays when traveling to southern IL. “

„This is a very clean and nice apartment within a very close drive to the Kinkaid boat launch. Easy to locate and can fit a car with a boat in tow no problem. This spot was also much more quiet than the campground or RV spots nearby. They have a great porch and a grill and we didn’t bring something for it which made me sad. “

„Perfect get away. This place is about as authentic as it gets. The photos are great, but the true rustic feel can only really be grasped in person. The host is very accommodating and has put a lot of thought into his hospitality. There are chickens that supply eggs. We received honey and bread. It is quiet and so relaxing. We already want to go back. “

"Ausführliches Frühstücksbüffet. Standard aber geräumiges Motelzimmer. Vergleichsweise teuer für ein 08-15 Motel neben der Autobahnausfahrt, aber keine wirkliche Mängel. Einchecken war etwas umständlich da jedes der zwei gebuchten Zimmer separat ein eigener Vorgang war."
