„The Landlord (better Landlady) has been very friendly and extremly helpful! We were sure to find the way to that house very easy with google-navy. BUT the Landlady wrote us before starting a better way to reach "The Fold" without problems. With her help we really arrived without problems. Sometimes we trusted google-navy- and suddenly we found ourselves in the darkness in between 20 sheeps in a very small briddleway. Better not to use google!!! „Beautiful cottage on the edge of the Lake District. Great location as it’s a short drive to most popular Lake District attractions. Stunning scenery and spacious cottage make for a relaxing getaway. Kev welcomed us when we arrived and recommended places to visit including the local pub for pizza which was lovely! 100% recommend this cottage for anybody looking to visit the Lake District. The hot tub was a luxurious bonus which helped us relax after a long day of hiking. “

„We were a party of 10, getting together to celebrate the 60th birthday party of 2 family members. The house was beautiful, plenty of room for everyone, although to be honest we spend most of our time in the cosy but large kitchen and adjacent games room. Many period features allowed you to really experience how they used to love. Kirby Stephen high street was a stones throw away, making it convenient for local shops and pubs. Would highly recommend for a large family get together“

„Our stay at the New Inn 1730 was only overnight, and we arrived around 6pm on a Sunday evening. This is a welcoming & friendly pub, with restaurant and accommodation. The owner did his best to accommodate our needs during our short stay, and is still finding his feet a little having only recently taken on the business. Food options were limited when we arrived, particularly for our two fussy children, so we did eat elsewhere that night, but the cooked breakfast in the morning was very good, ...

„This is such a special place to stay. Views are absolutely stunning and the house is delightful. Loved the bedrooms. But if you're used to wide, flat Western Australian roads like we are, just be aware the drive up is not for the fainthearted! Wished we had longer to stay, would definitely come back if we had the opportunity, this was our favourite of all the places we stayed in the UK. “

„It was small but had everything I needed. An instruction book for the combi oven/microwave would have been handy, and a rail to hang my clothes on. Very good shower. I did have problems locking the door from both the inside and outside. Great views, even though it was on the A66 it was very quiet.“

„Cottage war sehr schön, so wie wir es uns vorgestellt hatten. Das cottage liegt in einem sehr ruhigen Dorf. Die Bewohner des Dorfes sind sehr gastfreundlich. Das einzige Pub ( Restaurant) im Dorf ist sehr zu empfehlen, aber Reservierung nötig. Uns hat der Urlaub sehr viel Spaß gemacht, obwohl das Wetter typisch englisch war. Auch unser Hund fühlte sich sehr wohl. Einzig störende war, die etwas laute Pumpe für das warme Wasser.“

„Saubere und gemütliche Unterkunft in einem für die Gegend typischen kleinen Örtchen. Ausstattung detailverliebt und perfekt - wir haben nichts vermisst! Die Wandergebiete ins Lake District waren mit dem Auto gut erreichbar. Wir hatten einen sehr schönen und erholsamen Urlaub!“

"Dank des frisch renovierten und großen Zimmers war der Aufenthalt insgesamt okay. Allerdings ließ der Service wg. zu wenig Personal, ergo nicht abgeräumte Frühstückstische, schleppender Check in, Zimmer wurden nicht gemacht sehr zu wünschen übrig. Das Frühstück war mäßig (kein Obst, bis hin zur Kaffeetasse und zum Messer musste alles selbst an den Tisch gebracht werden). Als Ausgangspunkt für Wanderungen und die Schiffsfahrt über den See ist das Hotel aber sehr geeignet. "
