„Overall the property was very nice. It was great for a group with adults and teenage kids as there were two masters on the first floor and a hang out space downstairs for the kids. The location and dock for a boat as well as trampoline and second floor dock for jumping were enjoyed by all. Our only issues had to do with the cleanliness not being the best and the lack of some basics like more than one trash bag. „The property was beautiful with a great pool and dock. All ages (84 yrs to 7 months old) enjoyed hanging out by the pool. Playing pool, or sitting out on the covered deck playing games and music. Location was convenient to restaurants and grocery store.“

„We had a wonderful week at Whispering Pines Estate with our family of 23! The pool was welcomed with the heat and humidity! We loved the covered porch to read and relax out of the sun! We enjoyed the large table to eat dinner together and viewing the wildlife in the evening. We had an awesome week and are looking forward to returning next year!“

„This is our fourth year in a row staying at Hummingbird Cottage and we are already looking forward to coming back next year! The cottage is a great size for my husband and me, and we appreciate the private dock with kayaks, fire pit and wonderful location. “

„5 star!First time visit to Smith Mountain Lake and plan to return!House was clean and adequate space for family of 12. Kiddo's enjoyed bunk bedroom and game room. Adults especially like sitting on covered porch facing the lake. Kitchen well equipped and owner very responsive, even delivered a blender on our request! "Das Personal war sehr freundlich, daher hätte ich gerne mehr Punkte vergeben. Allerdings ist die Suite zwar groß, aber so ungemütlich/ kahl eingerichtet (nicht mal eine Kommode im Wohnbereich, nur Lampe, Sofa, Sessel und TV an der Wand) dass man sich dort nicht wirklich wohlfühlen konnte. Der Schnitt war auch seltsam. Trotz aller Mühe merkt man, dass dieses Hotel in die Jahre gekommen ist. Für eine Nacht ok, ich war aber froh, als wir dann am nächsten Tag weiterfuhren. "

"Beim Zimmer, das eine Verbindungstür zum Nebenzimmer hatte, war der Spalt am Boden sehr breit, so dass man alle Geräusche aus dem Nebenzimmer ungehindert hören konnte. Das Personal sofort ein paar Handtücher zur Verfügung gestellt, um das Problem provisorisch zu lösen."
