Our stay at the Mercure Bedford Hotel was extremely disappointing and unacceptable.
The hotel is not at all as shown in the pictures online. What we experienced on site was completely different and a major visual disappointment. In our opinion, this hotel does not deserve a 4-star rating.
Upon arrival, we were given a room where the toilet did not flush and the water would not drain. The carpet was very dirty, and the bed duvet was visibly stained.
We had to change rooms three times before finally being given a room where at least the toilet was working, which caused unnecessary stress and inconvenience.
The hygiene and maintenance standards were far below expectations.
I have formally complained via email to the hotel management and requested a refund, however to date I have received no response.
I would not recommend this hotel and will not stay here again."
