Experience an expansive, historic log home in the Rockies with impeccable views of Long's Peak and the Rocky Mountains. This luxurious cabin is located in the High Drive area just minutes from the south entrance to Rocky Mountain National Park and downtown Estes Park. Perfectly situated for outdoor excursions and exploring the town, Bishop's Retreat offers three floors of amazing views and comfortable living space.
Enjoy a drink and take in the panoramic views while eating dinner on the wraparound deck.
On the first floor, enter past a queen bedroom and adjoining full bath through the traditionally styled sitting room. Past the sitting room, the gourmet kitchen is furnished with a fusion of modern stainless steel appliances and rustic wooden accents.
The dining area features an oversized rustic table with seating for ten. Curl up to watch a movie or enjoy the mountain views on the couch or the several recliners in the living room. A door next to the dining table allows access out to the wraparound deck with additional seating.
Head down the wooden spiral staircase to the lower level, which features a queen bedroom on one side of the full bathroom and two twin beds on the other. Doors in both bedrooms lead out onto the lower level patio.
The upper floor hosts the master bedroom, featuring a king bed, a walk-in closet and even more amazing views. Head into the ensuite full bath to relax in the shower or jetted tub. The washer and dryer are located in an adjoining room off of the bathroom.This unique home is located in the best spot for the perfect Rocky Mountain adventure. Management provides a starter kit of amenities to get you through your first day, including: an extra roll of toilet paper in each bathroom, one extra roll of paper towels, 2-3 garbage bags, sample-sized bottles of shampoo and conditioner, small bar soap, 2-3 laundry powder packs, 4-5 dishwashing pods, liquid dishwashing soap, and a single brew coffee pack. Guests will need to provide or purchase additional toiletries and products as needed beyond this starter kit.

Bishop’s Retreat is 3 miles to downtown Estes Park and 2 miles to the Beaver Meadows Entrance to Rocky Mountain National Park.

Wonderful Mountain Chalet

What a wonderful visit we had. The mountain views were spectacular. The elk walking through the yard was such a treat. The early morning coffee on the deck with family was so relaxing. Everything we needed was available and so close to downtown Estes Park. We would definitely recommend this cabin and hoping we can stay there again in the future.

Fantastic View!

The checkin was very easy. The cabin has everything you will need. The view off the deck of Long’s Peak is spectacular. Entrance to RMNP is like 5 minutes away. Very quiet part of Estes Park.

Bishops Retreat for RMNP Wedding

We had a great experience at this property. We had planned a wedding in Rocky Mountain national Park, and even though it was cold and snowy, everything went off as planned. The home was well appointed and well heated. We had plenty of space for our guests, plenty of hot water for showers, and enjoyed our stay immensely.

We hosted a five day family retreat (6 adults) at Bishop's Retreat. Nothing to say but ... Perfect!! Spacious house, kitchen and entertainment spaces first class. Patio and view off the charts! I can't say enough! Highly recommended.

Great location, beautiful scenery

The house was very spacious for our group of 6. Everyone had their own space and the community areas were awesome. Broad spacious views of the Rockies, short drive into town, just an overall great weekend. Downstairs bedrooms had external private access, or a very tight spiral staircase from the living room area for internal access. We managed it pretty good, but if you had little ones, you may want to bring a gate to ensure they don’t tumble down. Upstairs room is a whole floor to yourself and extremely comfortable. Exterior spaces were more than enough for our group. Would stay here again, but would take the listing recommendation to bring extra toilet paper and paper towels since extras are not provided beyond the initial rolls when you arrive.

Family hiking at RMNP

Size and scale for a comfortable gathering of 6 to 8 people. Amazing views and great location near park and quick drive into town. Well stocked kitchen, but only 1 bar of soap and no shampoo. Minimal window shades, so plan to get up with the sun.

Beautiful setting-inadequate heating system!

It was cold and snowing. Beautiful setting. Very frustrating that the heating system was so in adequate. 1/2 of the house was controlled by one boiler the other half by another. The main part of the house where the kitchen is and dining room never got above 64°. The other side of the house was too hot. The toilet on the main floor was backed up and did not work. It was too bad because it was a beautiful stately old ranch style home with very interesting decor and furniture.

Pre-wedding breath of fresh air

Just wan the doctor ordered. Came early to relax for a few days before our daughter's wedding in Lyons. Morning coffee on the deck overlooking Long's Peak as it is bathed in rose colored rays of light from the rising sun. Location close to everything in Estes Park but you feel like you have your own private glen. Fantastic dark sky for star gazing and watching satellites zooming across the sky while enjoying an evening cocktail. perfect getaway for the family to take a breath before the wedding train left the station.

Private and quiet with an amazing view!

A great house on a large piece of private property. The views of the rocky mountains from the deck are just amazing. Deer are always wandering around the property. (The deck and stairs need staining and the master bedroom stairs and carpet need cleaning or replacing. The rest of the house is great!)

The perfect place

This house was the centerpiece of our trip to RMNP. It was a fantastic place to return to after a day of activities. The view can’t be captured in pictures, but it is an unobstructed, incredible, unique view only available in this neighborhood. Speaking of which, you are right across from the Beaver Meadows entrance to RMNP, and close to downtown and really close to a small supermarket and a few good restaurants. The house itself is exactly as represented in the write up. It’s not brand new, but it’s beautiful inside and out. We were able to hike in the back yard and the view was even more incredible. I would recommend a king size bed upstairs! A few more blankets would have been nice (the spare blankets provided were not of the same quality as the other comfy quilts on the beds). Not a big deal, though. Great books everywhere! Check out the books in the study closet... Sunrise breakfast on the deck was - well, you just had to be there. Snow everywhere, 63 degree sunny eldest, crisp cool nights... We just loved this trip and this house so much. Thanks for letting us stay at your great place!

Wonderful property in a great location

We rented the cabin for a weekend get away/sewing retreat. Everything about this place is wonderful. The views were spectacular, and while just outside of downtown, it felt very secluded. There is plenty of space to spread out and still be together. The kitchen was well equipped and we were able to prepare meals with no issue. We are already planning our next getway!

Amazing view, cabin is old and moldy.

Arrived on the cabin on Sunday night, no cable or internet until Wednesday afternoon. Dryer doesn’t automatically stop, you have to stay and wait until your clothes are fully dry before you can leave the cabin if you don’t want to burn the property which takes few hours for one load. Few ceiling lights flicker on and off (we don’t know if it’s sensored). Cabin is dusty, basement room smells like mold. Linens smells like an old man. My 3 yr old niece ended up in the emergency room because of respiratory issues. Most of my family slept on the 3rd floor to avoid getting sick. The only good thing I can say the view is amazing and close to the park. We are hoping they will offer some discount or compensation for 4 days of no tv cable or internet but did not hear anything except it will be fix.
