The property is a casita (mother-in-law apartment) within the gated property of the host. They have an additional rental. I liked that we were living like the locals do. The Casita is simple with a fantastic balcony. The hosts were wonderful although only the husband speaks English so communication once there was challenging. The Casita has a well equipped kitchen with a normal sized refrigerator and freezer. There is a gas burner but no toaster. One significant quirk was that the floor was not level.
Since the Casita is in the village among the locals, you hear people moving around at 5am in the morning and the buzz of the streets/bar at night. Saying that, we were able to get a good night's sleep every night.
The owner/husband works as a tour guide at Rancho Corcovado which is a 10 minute walk from the Casita.
This hotel has a nice beach and offers tours at a reasonable price, Kristel is awesome to work with. There is a fruit market just a couple doors away from the Casita and grocery stores and restaurants within 5 minutes.
