Rustic Country Homestead befindet sich in wunderschönen Dolores, Colorado

Der "Marotta Place" ist eines der frühesten Gehöfte in der wunderschönen Landschaft von Dolores, Colorado. Unsere rustikale familienfreundliche Hütte, ursprünglich im Jahr 1929 gebaut, aber mit modernen Annehmlichkeiten aktualisiert, ist ein 25 Hektar großen bewaldeten Rückzug im Zentrum von allem, was Southwest Colorado zu bieten hat. Ob Ihre Idee eines Urlaubs ist Mountainbiken, Wandern, Kajak fahren, die antiken Ruinen, .... Alle sind nur wenige Minuten von diesem wirklich einzigartigen Urlaubsort entfernt.

Ausstattung
Diese 1300 Quadratmeter große Hütte bietet Platz für 6-8 Personen und verfügt über zwei Schlafzimmer, eineinhalb Bäder, eine voll ausgestattete Küche, einen Wohn- und Essbereich und die original geschlossene "Schlaf-Veranda".
Zu den Annehmlichkeiten gehören:
Küche - eine voll ausgestattete Küche mit Kühlschrank, Herd, Mikrowelle, Toaster, Kaffeemaschine, Töpfen und Pfannen, Geschirr. Ein geräumiger Essbereich für 6 bis 8 Personen mit viel Bewegungsfreiheit. (Sie können Lebensmittelmärkte in Cortez oder Dolores kaufen, die viele lokal angebaute Produkte haben.)
Schlafzimmer - Das Hauptschlafzimmer verfügt über zwei 12-Zoll-Memory-Foam-Matratzen, die sich zu einem Kingsize-Bett zusammenfügen lassen oder zum getrennten Schlafen auseinanderziehen. Das zweite Schlafzimmer hat Etagenbetten mit einem Twin auf der Oberseite und voller Größe Matratze auf der Unterseite. Ein Queensize-Schlafsofa im Wohnzimmer bietet zusätzlichen Schlafplatz. Alle Bettwäsche und Decken sind vorhanden.
Wohnzimmer - Schlafsofa und Liegesessel machen es zu einem gemütlichen Ort, um fernzusehen, den DVD-Player oder nutzen Sie das Wi-Fi.
Badezimmer - das Hauptbadezimmer hat eine volle Dusche / Wanne, mit einem zweiten halben Bad von der Küche. Handtücher und Taschentücher sind vorhanden.
Schlammraum - Dieser sichere Einstieg in die Küche ermöglicht einfaches Be- und Entladen, Aufbewahrung von Eiskisten, Skiern, Rucksäcken und leichten Zugang. Eine Waschmaschine und Trockner spart Reisen in den Waschsalon, während Sie im Urlaub sind.
Schlafende Veranda - Original zum Haus, dieser abgeschirmte / geschlossene Bereich ermöglicht es denjenigen, die gerne in der kühlen Mountain Air ohne Moskitos schlafen.

Außenausstattung gehören:
Garage - eine separate 2-Auto-Garage ermöglicht es Ihnen, sicher und einfach Ihre Kajaks, Fahrräder und andere Vierrad-Spielzeug zu sichern, wenn Sie für einen Tag Sightseeing ausgehen.
 26 Hektar bewaldeten Eigentums - ermöglicht einen Platz zu genießen und erkunden Sie die Natur und die lokale Tierwelt, wie Hirsche, Eichhörnchen und gelegentlich Weißkopfseeadler.
Mountainbike-Strecke - geeignet für Anfänger, bietet aber eine Downhill-Herausforderung für erfahrenere Fahrer (Ein Warm-Up für Phil's World)

Great place for family but not for cats

We selected this home for our daughter's family while they were moving out of a difficult housing situation and preparing for a move to another state. This was a stressful time and this Vrbo was just the place to feel a bit of peace in the midst of chaos. Everything they needed was there with games and a wonderful tire swing that provided hours of laughter and fun. The only draw back was we were lead to believe this was a pet friendly place as it was stated in the online listing and in the house rules posted in the house. They have a nice fence area for dogs but we learned the hard way that cats were excluded from the property. We voluntarily gave up our deposit so they can get the house deep cleaned.

Well-appointed home-away-from-home

This was like our second home and a base of operations to go out and enjoy the parks and railroads around it. The location was great, the decor was very well-done and rustic. There were plenty of kitchen tools and utensils for cooking our own meals. We enjoyed the wide selection of DVDs, the games and the jigsaw puzzles. The gas grill was a thoughtful bonus, so we picked up steaks on the way in from town. The only surprise was arriving and learning there was no air conditioning. However, judicious opening and closing of windows in early June allowed us to capture the cool night air and retain it except for one hour in the afternoon where it started to feel rather warm. For the season we stayed, it wasn’t a problem — just a surprise. On the days between expeditions where we just stayed there for rest, it was a very comfortable place to laze around and recharge. Communication with the host was wonderful, and she was very helpful.

comfortable and lovely country home

We have stayed in vacation rentals all over the world for many years, and this was among the best. The house is well-equipped in every respect, clean, comfortable, and inviting. The kitchen is particularly nice. You'll have no trouble preparing elaborate meals if that is your desire. There's a nice selection of DVDs and games for some relaxing family time in the evening. As for the location, it's a great base of operations from which to explore the Four Corners. Mesa Verde NP is within half an hour, and Monument Valley + Valley of the Gods (highly recommended!) are about 2 hours away. Many other points of interest as well. Sonja was the ideal host; very prompt with her warm and helpful communications.

Perfect Thanksgiving at Dolores Homestead

My family of 4 had an amazing week at "Marotta Place" just outside of Dolores. The house was a perfect home base for trail running, mountain biking and hiking. I had to work most mornings and played in the afternoon. My two college age kids attended remote classes the first couple of days and the internet connection was fine for the whole family. This was a great home away from home. We had plenty of room to spread out as we worked in the morning. The living room was very cozy and perfect for games in the evening. Kitchen had everything we needed for our Thanksgiving meal. Heating, washer, dryer and all appliances worked great. The house and garage has lots of storage. We were able to keep extra ice chests in the mud room and our bikes in the garage. We took a few short hikes on the property between meetings and other activities. The views were great and not something I was expecting to enjoy so much. Sonja is great with communication. She sent detailed instructions prior to our arrival and checked up on us a few times during our stay.

Authentic Colorado home(stead)

As other reviews have stated, this is an older home (1929?), but it has been refurbished. About 3 miles from Delores. 27 acres and nice views. Plenty of kitchen items, internet, TV. All worked well and the place was clean. Nice sun room (270 degrees of windows) for morning coffee and evening drinks. Dog friendly! I was in the area to hike the mountains above Delores aside state route 145 and there are endless, wonderful hikes nearby (most hiking here is, well, uphill.) Owner is VERY responsive and timely in doing so which is a big bonus IMO. I very much enjoyed the home and felt like I was staying in "grandma and grandpa's" house (in a good way!)

Relaxing solitude/fun

This is exactly what we were looking for, away from everything. It was just right for our large family of adults and 4 kids. It’s an older home and it’s a little on the old fashioned side, but I didn’t have to worry about the kids messing it up. Floating down the Dolores river was a highlight. The kids liked being able to go walk around Dolores without the adults. It was a perfect place for a family vacation.

Friendly Family Home

Great place to crash at the end of a busy day sightseeing. This is a well-loved older home in the quietest country setting imaginable -- a dead end road. We didn't have time to explore the large lot but it looks interesting. Location is convenient to attractions northeast in Telluride, and south to Mesa Verde. Our two dogs also give it five paws. No flights of stairs for an older dog to navigate. Owner was exceedingly prompt in answering all questions. Would stay here again.

Peace and Quiet in the Country

A comfortable and quiet place to relax in a beautiful part of Colorado, we thoroughly enjoyed our stay here! It was nice that our dogs were welcome and there is a small fenced area for them to romp in. This is in a great location for many activities close by such as mountain hikes, visiting ancient Indian ruins, water sports, mountain biking, and horseback riding. After exhausting ourselves having great times outdoors, this home is so nice to come back to for relaxing.

Home away from home

This place is absolutely wonderful, we didn't want to go home. It had everything we needed and it felt like home, but in the relaxing vacation way. Sonja was very helpful and quick at responding, and she made sure everything went good for us. It's in a secluded area with beautiful views, and yet close enough to the charming town of Dolores. Our kids enjoyed exploring the 26 acres and barbecuing outside, just like we were camping with no one around. The cabin is close to many gorgeous hiking trails, Mesa Verde, and minutes to McPhee Reseevoiur, and Dolores River for those who love to fish, raft, paddle board, and spend time by the water. We look forward to many more stays there. I recommend this place to everyone, and I know they'll enjoy it as much as we did. Thanks Sonja (and family)

Roomy and comfortable

Large, roomy house - easy to find and gain entrance. The kitchen has every type of appliance on earth, and plenty of dinnerware, silverware, pots and pans. So happy we were able to watch TV. Wish the internet worked consistently and there were more fans as it got quite warm in the afternoon. It was unclear what to do with the trash, as it seemed to accumulate in the garage.

Better than expected!!

The house was very roomy and comfortable. Nice bath towels and plenty of linens. There is no AC so it was warm on the one night a storm didn’t blow through. However on the nights it stormed, it was very comfortable sleeping with the windows open and fans blowing. Very clean home and it’s evident the owners take pride in the property. There were cute and interesting Knick knacks and books/ magazines /brochures in various coves and shelving and even a hand drawn Welcome sign hung on the refrigerator with magnets! My husband and I would certainly stay here again!

Homey rural retreat -- great location for exploring!

We loved our stay here! It is a great old farmstead on a gravel road, just far enough off the highway to be quiet. The house isn't travel magazine glossy or trendy, but it is fully stocked and very comfortable with upgrades where it counts -- the master bathtub/shower is LOVELY after a dusty day out hiking -- great water pressure, deep tub, handlebars for when your stiff -- with plenty of fluffy towels. The new fridge's icemaker makes copious amounts of ice for all your coolers and water bottles and holds plenty of provisions for using either of the grills stored in the garage. The internet wifi worked well and the TV could be easily logged into my own netflix account. I would perhaps suggest a new sofa for the next upgrade. My mother especially loved the hummingbirds that visit the kitchen window. The location is very convenient for those exploring the archaeology of the area: right by the Canyon of the Ancients visitor center and museum, a short drive to several of the sites in the national monument and no more than an hour to Hovenweep or Mesa Verde. The small town of Dolores is tucked between the river and a cliff and, though it is very small, the grocery store in town is great -- we HIGHLY recommend the pie.
