Gorgeous and Convenient Chapel House!

As seen on Twin Cities Live, the Fargo Forum and Star Tribune! 5 mins from downtown DL! A serene and beautiful place to rest, relax and rejuvenate! Chapel House, built in 1903 has served as a Norwegian chapel and boutique over its long life. The space has been transformed for all to gather, make memories and enjoy. The new floor plan highlights the steeple, original 24ft scalloped ceiling design & the gorgeous setting. The Chapel now has a fully functioning open concept great room, gourmet kitchen, 3 full bedrooms/ 2.5 baths. All brand new and high end!
The space.
While keeping the beauty and integrity of the 113 year old structure we have given it love and an expanded purpose. Chapel House is a unique space and a perfect place to have a private weekend away or gather as a group to celebrate life’s major milestones! Anniversaries, birthdays, graduations, bachelorette parties, baby showers, retreats… you name it! The space is stunning, open and versatile. 24ft scalloped ceilings, stained glass and everything brand new; Chapel House is ready to welcome people to celebrate.

The master ensuite (upper level) features a king bed with a custom stained glass window above which flows into the beautiful ceiling. From the bed you can gaze through the 9ft window and out to the rolling farmland. The master bathroom has an oversized shower, dual sinks and gorgeous tile work.

The basement contains the 2 other bedrooms and full bathroom. The Navy Blue Suite has a very comfortable queen bed, complete with twin size trundle that can be rolled out for additional sleeping options. The burgundy bunk room has a queen over queen bunk beds and an additional ottoman that can be converts to a twin bed! Lots of options for large groups to enjoy the space.

*Please note* Pricing is based on 4 guests and use of owners ensuite and navy blue suite and all common areas. Burgundy bunk room will remain locked unless additional guests book their stay. Family Time

Such a cool and unique property, the owners did an exception job renovating and keeping the integrity of the church building while making it functional for guests to utilize as a home. Several family members of mine in the area wanted to come check it out. I can tell the owners put so much love into this project, my suggestions for improving the rental experience would be to add some sort of window treatment to the master bedroom. A direct sun beam would come through the window around 6:30am and wake us up, we eventually moved the bed on day 3 but the room was still so bright it was tough to sleep in past that. It is a wonderful space for entertaining with lots of open space. Adding some large rugs and additional, more comfortable seating would help improve the echo we experienced while trying to visit. Including some newer frying pans for things like eggs would be a great addition when cooking. Finally, I wish the property had some outdoor furnishings. The weather was so beautiful while we were there I wanted to be outside all the time. I was able to borrow some chairs from my aunt in the area, I look forward to renting again and being able to enjoy meals and time outside.

Peaceful & Memorable Stay

Unique experience in Detroit Lakes area. Beautiful open floor plan with upgraded kitchen, comfortable master suite. Peaceful setting, short drive to downtown. We appreciated the story behind this restored historic church that offers a relaxing atmosphere for couples or families.

GORGEOUS Place! Great value! HIGHLY Recommend!

We rented this property for a graduation gathering and chose to go with a 3 day/night time block which allowed us plenty of time for set up and clean up, as well as the option for guests who were traveling a distance to stay over night. This property is BREATHTAKING. It is by far the most beautiful and UNIQUE place we've ever stayed. It is spacious, very clean, still has that invigorating new construction smell, huge yard and patio, and has plenty of seating for everyone. It is worth every penny. Anyone considering this property should go for it - you will not regret it. In fact, we are sad to leave it, it's too easy to fall in love with this place!! When it comes to future venue needs in the Detroit Lakes area, this will be our go to spot as well as our top recommendation to others. I simply cannot compliment this place enough. Additionally, the location of this property it perfect. It is secluded, no neighbors, and positioned among absolutely beautiful, rural scenery while still being only minutes from HWY 10. So if you need to run to the store, you're only about 5 minutes away from town. Some other perks - big yard! We brought a volleyball/racket ball net which made for a fun activity for guests. Also, fantastic acoustics for any guitar players! There are also dishes and coffee pot provided, which came in handy. This property provided immaculate memories for my daughter's graduation and was a wonderful way to celebrate. The owners have created a MASTERPIECE!

Chapel house did not disappoint

We (three couples) recently stayed at this property for a few days of relaxation, lake and golf. It was fantastic. The property was top shelf and perfectly suited to our yearly get togethers. Beautiful deck, and spacious kitchen for great conversations. Sleeping arrangements were varied so not everyone got similar beds and space but that was part of the fun, auctioning off the master suite… We highly recommend this property.

We thoroughly enjoyed the uniqueness of this property. The quiet and beautiful scenery were perfect for the weekend we had planned. No fault of the host, but a helpful review for winter guests is that the roads leading to this property may be a little icy and hilly for some drivers’ comforts. Would definitely stay here again!

Unique and special

If you’re looking for something different and beautiful for a special occasion or just because, the Chapel House is perfect. You can’t beat this historical yet gorgeous place sitting at the very top of a hill. The host was super friendly and helpful throughout the entire process. We were here celebrating a birthday with my spouse and our teenage/older children, and we enjoyed every minute! We were actually there during a blizzard, but we couldn’t have picked a better place to be snowed in. :)
