Here is my honest experience renting this house. When we arrived, the first thing we saw was garbage near the fireplace—matches, plastic wrappers, and even a used medicine container. The outdoor cushions were ripped, molded, and very dirty; only a couple were usable, but most should be replaced as they were unpleasant to sit on. Behind the bar we found trash and food leftovers, and around the pool area there were bottle caps scattered everywhere. The pool itself had algae on the bottom and even a frog swimming in it, showing it wasn’t maintained or treated with enough chlorine. At night, the backyard was very dark since nearly half of the spotlights didn’t work, and we had to rely on phone flashlights. The jacuzzi smelled strange, had algae on the bottom, cloudy water, and only one light worked; one of the modes didn’t function properly either. The mosquito lamp had no batteries, and none were provided. The listing also stated the pool was heated, but it was completely cold. The grill was in terrible shape—covered in grease and burned residue. One propane tank was empty, the other barely worked, and utensils were missing. Inside, we found flies in the kitchen (alive and dead), greasy pots, and a refrigerator that froze some of our food overnight. The washing machine had mold in the rubber seal and couldn’t be used. A closet door hinge was broken, and the master shower drain didn’t work properly. Overall, the property looked nice in pictures but in reality was far from luxury.

My stay was excellent! The property was very clean, well-maintained, and exactly as described. The hot tub and views were the highlight of the trip. The host was responsive and made check-in and check-out very smooth. I would definitely recommend this place to anyone looking for a relaxing getaway

Nice Ski Getaway

Stayed here with a large group for a ski weekend. The place was very conveniently located near Elk mountain yet secluded enough where we had a ton of privacy and room to roam. The house itself had plenty of space for our 10 guests and the stocked kitchen was very helpful. The hot tub was also a nice touch to come back to after skiing all day. There were just a couple issues we had with the place. For one, the game room is quite underwhelming compared to the pictures. The basketball game was not there and the foosball table was poorly constructed and basically unplayable. Also, we used the grill outside which looked like it had not been cleaned in quite a while. The patio area also had not been shoveled at all so it was quite icy and tough to get around.Outside of those minor issues we really enjoyed our stay and would definitely suggest it for larger groups looking for a nice stay near Elk Mountain.

Great location & very spacious

Great location and very roomie. The only issue we came across was the kitchen was not clean as though the cleaning people forgot to clean it, & there were left over items on the back porch from the previous guests. I did contacted the owner & he was very quick to respond & took care of the problem which was great! I would have given it five stars if it wasn't for that. He was actually very responsive whenever I contacted him which was amazing. Also the backyard view was pretty looking out the kitchen windows especially after the snow fall, the hot tub was a plus, the beds were very comfortable and it was very nice not having to bring your linens and towels. We spent a lot of time when we weren't skiing cooking & relaxing in the family room watching movies. The couch was extremely comfortable fit all 7 of us. There was no basketball game in downstairs basement as shown in pictures but my boys didn't care at all. Probably just need to update the photos. Overall we had a great time! Thank you & thank you for always responding so promptly.

Great house with a great view!

My wife and I stayed here for our anniversary and the property was fantastic! The house is great and while you can tell it's meant for families and groups, we had a great time enjoying the fireplace, the deck, and the foosball table! The master bathroom was particularly great. We would definitely recommend staying here, our only regret was missing the pool for the year!

Excellent in Every Way!

I had friends in from overseas and this was a short getaway as part of a larger visit, and it could not have been more perfect -- from the beauty of the house, the fun of the pool and relaxation of the jacuzzi; the tranquility of the yard and property -- down to even the smallest details (like the shampoo/conditioner that was provided, it was all quality not a cheap brand). With plenty of towels and linens, there was nothing overlooked. Communication was prompt and courteous, and my friends and I just loved this place, thank you so much!!!

Beautiful, relaxing escape

Gracie and Tim were wonderful hosts; very communicative, and take great care of their home (One of the cleanest VRBOs we have ever stayed at!). Our family thoroughly enjoyed our time at this property - from kids (ages 6 to 13), to the parents and grandparents. Comfortable inside and out, loved the pool, hot tub, and fire pit area. Highly recommend!

Very Clean house and very responsive owners

We stayed here to go skiing at Elk Mountain (about 25 minutes away). Two families and five kids in total (ages 4-10). The owners were very quick to respond to any questions we had, and the place is very well-kept overall. The kids were minorly disappointed that there wasn't a "pop-a-shot" basketball set up in the basement as the pictures showed, but that REALLY did not matter at all. We would absolutely stay here again in the future.

Great spot for a long weekend with family and friends!

This house was the perfect place for our family and friends to get together for a long weekend. The property was beautiful with plenty to do. We never felt bored in the house for a second. The area around has plenty of nature to explore and the local town has a ton of spots to grab food and whatever you need right down the road. Tim was super helpful and quick to respond! I would definitely recommend this house and I hope to stay there again in the future.

Great Ski Trip

House was perfect for us for a quick ski weekend getaway. We showed up at night and the house was spotless and ready for us. In the morning, we watched 8-10 deer frolick behind the house for 30 minutes. Kids were amazed. Check-in and check-out seamless and easy. Great location for Elk Mountain skiing.

Great NYE Getaway

Great place for a getaway with two families. We had 6 kids and 4 adults and the house was perfect for us. The house is well appointed and had everything we needed. The couch in the main living room was amazing and easily fit all 10 of us. We cooked both nights in the kitchen with ease. Tim was wonderful to deal with both before the stay and during when we had a few questions. His responses came within a minute. I would definitely recommend this property.

Literal Perfection.

A location will often look better in pictures than it does in real life. In this case, the photos simply cannot do the location justice. This property is absolutely stunning. The master bedroom suite is comfortable, spacious, and elegant. The walk-in closet is perfect, and the master bath has a lovely tub and shower. The other bedrooms and restrooms (both half and full) are comfortable, well furnished/laid out, and all in good working order. The area of the main floor is perfect. The main living room has a good television, a delightful fireplace, and a large, comfortable couch capable of seating a slue of guests (or for stretching out and taking up as much as possible by one's self). Tim also made it easy to bring your own devices by providing an open HDMI cord plugged into the TV with an HDMI splitter in case you have more than one device you'd like to plug in. The kitchen has plenty of counterspace and the butcher block built in is a wonderful addition. The kitchen also has all the tools (pots, pans, utensils) one would need to cook most meals, so no need to schlep cookware up yourselves. The backyard/outdoor space is a true marvel. Multi-level deck provides a beautiful view out into the trees. We went in November so we spent less time outside, but the hot tub and outdoor seating were wonderful while we were out there. Overall I couldn't find something to complain about if I tried. If you're looking to rent and this property is in contention, choose this one. You won't regret it.

Beautiful home for a laid back getaway

We had a very enjoyable and relaxing family vacation at this home. Everything is as pictured and described. The pool was hours of fun for both the kids and adults. AMAZING!!!!

Absolutely everything about this house was amazing. It was an incredibly easy house to book, Tim was so helpful and responsive to every question (big or small), before, during and after our stay. It was myself and 8 other friends, we had more than enough room to sleep, eat and mingle. The backyard is as incredible (maybe even better) as it looks in pictures. The house was clean, stocked with more than enough supplies of what we needed and in a great location, Although it was on a semi-busy road/next to a train track it was very quiet and it felt like we had our little own oasis. If I was ever in the area again, I’d stay here every time!!!

New Years Getaway

Tim’s house was perfect for a quick getaway with friends. Property was easy to access, plenty of sleeping accommodations and an overall homey and open feel. Nice to have a couple local breweries not far and a great restaurant, Alter House. Would recommend a stay here.
