"Old style country manor in a beautiful location and setting in the Ayrshire countryside. Staff very friendly and some of the public areas were beautiful (Grand Staircase a particular highlight) Breakfast buffet was also well worth the money, although the room was not the easiest to get to. BUT - the bedrooms need serious updating. Cleanliness was good but not great, floorboards creaked all over the place, bed was uncomfortable, bathroom had cracked tiles al over the place, one window was draughty and didn’t lock, and the bedroom in general felt like it was stuck in the 1980s. Such a shame and a stark contrast to the rest of the building. Would visit again just for the setting though."

"The hotel has seen better times and the seagulls on the roof in front of our rooms window made it hard to sleep. But staff was friendly and breakfast was really okay."

"Die Unterkunft war sehr gut ausgestattet und bot uns ausreichend viel Platz, so dass wir uns bequem ausbreiten konnten mit unserem Gepäck (sind mit dem Fahrrad unterwegs). Das Personal war ūberaus freundlich und zuvorkommend. Wir würden jederzeit wieder einchecken."

"The Marine Troon offers nice rooms with Victorian charm and great views, we especially enjoyed the phenomenally friendly and attentive staff and great food in the bar and restaurants. Also a great place to stay with your dog. "
