We have stayed at this property many times. It needs so me remodeling but it was always clean and the staff was good.
This time, it was still clean, the room had been slightly updated but the staff was not knowledgeable and there wasn’t good communication between staff. I was sent in the wrong direction for my second floor room and the comment was, oh it is that way?.
Secondly, we had planned to eat in the hotel pub and was told by reception that there was a private party but we could still eat there. My husband went and spoke to a server who told us yes we could eat there but come at 5:00pm and we can only order from the sandwich menu. We went at 5:00, a server told us to pick a table that did not have a reserve sign and she would bring us a menu. We sat down and a few minutes later another server came out and said they were at capacity and “ we had to leave”. No apologies. It should have started at reception that there was a private event and not available for drop ins. Two people told us yes we could eat there in two separate areas, reception and a server.
On another small point, the vouchers for breakfast should have the time range for breakfast.
We will ppropably stay another time because of the convenience for our trip but I hope there will be more knowledgeable staff and communication.
