“Super Cool Retro Shack” is a delightful single-storey family home in Cowes, perfectly positioned for a relaxed Phillip Island getaway. Just a short stroll from the beach and close to the supermarkets, restaurants, and cafés of Cowes, this retro-inspired home offers a fun and comfortable base for your island adventure. With a boat ramp nearby, it’s also a convenient choice for guests bringing their boat along. Some of the many features of this lovely home are detailed below:

Indoor Areas

The home is accessed via the front entrance, with both stairs and a ramp leading up to the raised home. The open-plan Kitchen/Dining/Living Room (with 40" Smart TV and a selection of board/card games/books and magazines), with direct access to the covered Verandah and side Patio, offers a comfortable space to relax and unwind. The Dining area has a table seating 6, along with 3 retro groovy bar stools. A central hallway leads to Bedrooms 1 & 2 (each with BIR), while Bedroom 3 is located at the rear of the home (with freestanding robes). The main Bathroom (with freestanding bath, shower & toilet) and another separate Toilet are located off the hallway, offering additional convenience for guests. The European-style Laundry (with washing machine & clothes airer) is located in the hallway off the Kitchen.

Outdoor Areas

The covered front Verandah provides a lovely outdoor space to relax (with 2 outdoor tables seating 10, a cane couch, 8 retro outdoor chairs and 2 additional chairs). Surrounded by established trees and leafy greenery, the front yard has a relaxed, natural feel and provides a pleasant setting to enjoy the outdoors. The covered side Patio (with a gas BBQ, small table and seating for 4) makes it a great spot for relaxed outdoor dining. The property also offers parking for up to 4 vehicles, with space for a boat in the driveway, making it a convenient choice for guests bringing their boat along. The nearby Anderson Road boat ramp provides easy access to the water.

Kitchen

The fully appointed Kitchen is equipped with cooking utensils, crockery, cutlery, microwave, Nespresso-compatible coffee pod machine, toaster, kettle, etc., plus a double sink, fridge/freezer, dishwasher, electric oven and electric ceramic cooktop.

Heating/Cooling Systems

There is a wall-mounted reverse-cycle air conditioner in the Kitchen/Dining/Living Room that heats and cools the entire home.

Bedding Configuration

This home has 7 beds, accommodating up to 9 guests:

Bedroom 1: One Queen bed
Bedroom 2: One Tri-bunk
Bedroom 3: Two sets of Single bunks

Please note: The Tri-bunk has a double bed base with a single bed above it.

Linen

It is common in the region for some linen to be provided for bookings, and some linen to be available as an optional extra. By default, a booking at this home does not include optional linen (top & bottom sheets, bath towels and pillowcases). What is included are doonas (quilts) with covers, pillows without covers, tea towels, hand towels and bathmats. If you would like the optional linen included in your booking, please let us know, including which beds you would like it provided for. The additional cost would be a one-off charge of $30 per bed - and we prefer 7 days' notice prior to your arrival to get that arranged.

Peak Periods

Please note that during the peak summer period and other peak times, check in times are set as 3pm unless by prior arrangement. Please also note that if you avail of the optional linen hire over these times, it may involve linen being left out but beds not being made up.

Functions, Celebrations and Schoolies

Please note that the home is not suitable for celebrations, parties, or large events. The home also does not take bookings over Schoolies, irrespective of whether school-leavers are part of the official Schoolies Program. All bookings are subject to approval, pending Guest verification process. Local council restrictions are in place for this property, and compliance is mandatory.
