You’ll be easy walking distance to all that Corny has to offer: the beach, restaurants, taverns & shops, but still have the peace & quiet that makes the South Shore such a restorative place to which to get away. This two-bedroom, one bath cabin marries the high-end conveniences a new construction build can offer with rustic Northwoods charm.

The South Shore is truly a place to get away from it all, but not so far from modern conveniences that getting food and gas feels like a chore. The guest book contains tips on all the incredible outdoor activities around here, as well as local arts, plus places to get groceries, dine out, grab a drink, etc. This is truly a year-round destination, whether you enjoy outdoor adventure, local cuisine, art, or simply the company of friends & family in one of the most beautiful locations in the northern U.S.

The home is just a few minutes' walk from the center of Cornucopia, which has a delightful general store/market, awesome coffee shop, bar/restaurant, and marina. Bayfield is about 25 minutes away, as is Washburn (where you’ll find the largest grocery store in the area). Ashland is about 35 minutes away, with a natural foods co-op, Wal-Mart, and a wider range of shops). Superior & Duluth are an hour and a bit away.

You'll be easy walking distance to the lake/beach, the shops & restaurants/bars, gas station, and coffee shop that are in Cornucopia. The cabin's driveway easily accommodates two vehicles.

You’ll find a gourmand's dream kitchen with all stainless appliances (gas oven/stove, dishwasher, and the fanciest fridge ever), open-plan dining & living room, two bedrooms with queen beds, and a full bath (including a bathtub - a rarity for vacation rentals in the area). Oh, did we also mention a full-size clothes washer & dryer? We suspect you won’t want to leave.

Every aspect of this cabin has been thoughtfully designed & decorated, down to the gorgeous bathroom & kitchen countertops and backsplashes. The living room features a leather sofa that converts to a queen bed, as well as equally-comfy leather love seat & oversized chair. And for family movie nights, the living room has a wall-mounted smart tv and soundbar. The dining table seats six comfortably.

The exterior features a wrap-around deck, gas grill, and even a fire pit to enjoy on crisp & cool evenings.

Escaping to the South Shore doesn’t mean leaving all the mod cons behind! The cabin features high-speed wifi, central heat AND air conditioning, smart tvs in the living & main bedroom, and even built-in USB charging outlets. Cornucopia is also a perfect mid-point for you to explore the region. Miles and miles of trails, beaches, as well as Bayfield, Washburn, and Ashland are all an easy drive away. And your host will ensure that you get the most out of your visit, providing custom-tailored recommendations & itineraries based on what activities you are keen to enjoy during your stay.

You'll need a car to reach the cabin as there's no public transit to speak of on the south shore. The nearest airport is about an hour and 15 minutes away, in Duluth.

Your host stocks the cabin with coffee that is roasted in nearby Port Wing, honey from a bee keeper in nearby Herbster, other locally-made products, and will provide you with a menu of local, farm fresh produce, meats, fish, and other food products that we can have waiting for you when you check in. For us, it's all about creating a memorable experience here on Lake Superior's South Shore. We'll even arrange farm & art studio tours and other excursions, as we love to connect our guests with the incredible breadth of creative energy that exists in this magical part of the world.
