„Classy Hotel in an 18th Century Georgian architectural landmark which was saved by the Hotel Company. Went there first on a rushed business trip and went back half a year later to enjoy it finally with my partner. The pool is warm and not exactly for a sporty swimmer, but is nice with the opportunity to swim outdoors. Beds and Breakfast are excellent and up to the price. After finding the south of England more and more crowded, the Peak District is an area I was happy to discover.“

„Probleme werden nicht gut gelöst, kein Bemühen um Ausgleich. Das erste Zimmer roch nach Rauch (Antwort Personal: ja, das kann sein, der Vorgänger im Zimmer musste eine Strafe für rauchen zahlen), darauf hin ein Behinderten-gerechtes Zimmer mit Problem im Duschablauf). Das war nicht das einzige Problem im Bad, aber das Personal am Morgen war uninteressiert und nicht hilfsbereit. Fazit: Zimmer geräumig und bis auf die Mängel ok, Sauberkeit ok, Aber: Personal teilweise sehr unfreundlich. Kein ...

„The hotel had lots of character. We couldnt fault the room. Staff were extremely friendly and welcoming. The little touches like fresh milk and drinks in the fridge on arrival. Packed lunch every mornimg of our stay. Ideal location for exploring. The pianist in the restaurant in the evening was lovely.The food was very good.“

„This Hilton has rooms which are clean and quiet, beds are good but no option to ventilate the room. The restaurant facilities can’t be worse: at opening time of the restaurant we ordered food and 10 minutes later you are told to order something else because they ran out of it. As we had chosen something else, the response was: “Is THAT all, you want nothing else?” In a very arrogant way. Then they even expect a tip afterwards. During Checkout, the receptionists were unable to produce an invoice. ...

„...allerdings liegt wohl auch das Hauptaugenmerk auf dem Restaurant. Man mußte schon ein wenig klappern, um sich als Hotelgast bemerkbar zu machen. Die Sauberkeit des Zimmers war gut, die des Bades nicht so gut. Personal, wenn anwesend, war sehr freundlich und hilfsbereit. Frühstück war in Ordnung, auch wenn es nur Instant-Kaffee gab.“
