The dramatic Jurassic Coast is 4 miles away, with the seaside towns of Seaton and Beer both offering rewarding days by the sea. Wander along the beach, follow the South West Coast Path for sweeping clifftop views or watch fishing boats come and go in Beer's sheltered cove. Lyme Regis (8 miles) is a favourite for fossil hunting; while there you can also explore the harbour and browse its distinctive shops and galleries. For a change of pace, the lively city of Exeter is 24 miles away. Spend the day discovering its magnificent cathedral, shopping streets, museums and waterside cafes.
