Walk about 10 min to Target and Kroger, and about 5 min to United Dairy Farmers for ice cream. Guests say the street is quiet, easy for parking, with deer passing by in the morning. Our walkable picks: Acropolis Gyro Palace about 4 min, Donatos Pizza about 6, Paik's Noodles about 9, Starbucks about 10 and Natalie's Coal Fired Pizza with live music about 13. For a drink, Pat & Gracie's, Eldorado's Food & Spirits and Bob's Bar are about 10 to 12 min on foot. ALDI is about 9 min, and Sharon Meadows Park about 16.

• Dining: kitchen table for 4 plus a bench-seat dining nook
• Bathroom: 1 full bath with tub and shower combo, mirrored vanity, shampoo, conditioner and body wash
• Work: laptop-friendly workspaces and fast WiFi
• Laundry: your own washer and dryer in your private basement, down a flight of stairs
• Comfort: air conditioning and heat, tower fans (there are no ceiling fans), room-darkening shades

Come fall, light the fireplace and pull out a board game after a day in the city. In warmer months the backyard fire pit and hammock are the spot. Streaming apps are on the Roku; log in with your own accounts in guest mode.

A car is easiest for the city: 9 min drive to Ohio State, 13 to Downtown and Short North, 15 to John Glenn Columbus International Airport, about 14 to LEGOLAND Discovery Center and about 18 to COSI, with quick access to I-71, I-670 and I-315. Park in your one off-street spot or on the free street. The COTA bus stop is about a 2 min walk.
