Hot Tub & Sauna | Mtn Views | Hammocks | Dogs Ok
- A-frame in the pines outside Divide. The hot tub and cedar barrel sauna share the lower deck at 9,000 ft.
🛁 Private hot tub, mountain views
🧖 Cedar barrel sauna facing the Rocky Mountains
🐾 2 dogs welcome, 75 lbs each
🪢 7 hammocks across two decks
🔥 Propane fire pit + Adirondack chairs
📶 308 mbps Starlink + laptop friendly
🌲 8 min to Mueller State Park
Soak, sweat, then watch the sun drop behind the peaks. Sleeps 4.
THE SPACE:
Modern A-frame at 9,000 ft, recently renovated, built for four.
🏔️ Big windows, clean lines, and the classic A-frame pitch. The hot tub and cedar barrel sauna sit together on the lower deck, and the sauna's glass window looks straight at the Collegiate Peaks.
🧑🍳 Full kitchen: gas stove, griddle, dishwasher, rice maker, stand mixer, fondue set. Drip coffee, burr grinder, gooseneck kettle, French press, and a pour-over setup for people who care about the morning.
🔥 Radiant wall heat keeps it warm in January. No A/C, and at this elevation you won't want it.
💻 308 mbps Starlink and a dedicated workspace, so a Monday here still works.
🎵 Record player on the red table in the entryway. Roku TV with soundbar and subwoofer. Guitar, Scrabble, Codenames, Mancala, and a shelf of hiking and wildlife books.
Couples, small families, remote workers, and up to two dogs.
SLEEPING LAYOUT:
🛏️ Loft (up 8 steep ladder stairs, handrail on the right): 1 queen bed
🛋️ Living room: leather sectional pulls out to 1 double bed
Sleeps 4.
🪑 The entryway chair folds out to a twin if someone wants their own spot, but we cap the house at 4 guests.
Pullout linens (sheets, duvet, blankets, pillows) are zipped up behind the couch, plus a blanket basket. Blackout pole blinds in the loft.
OUTDOOR LIVING:
Three levels of deck. The hot tub and the cedar barrel sauna are why people book this one.
🛁 Hot tub: 13 steps down from the mid-deck landing, on a railed 16x16 lower deck with its own seating area. Runs year round between 101°F and 104°F. Soak after a day at Mueller, or carry coffee down at 7 AM and watch the light come up through the pines.
🧖 Cedar barrel sauna: right next to the hot tub, with a glass window pointed at the Collegiate Peaks. Run the sauna, drop into the hot tub, stand in the cold mountain air, do it again. That loop is the whole evening up here.
🪢 Hammocks: three eggshell hammocks strung under the deck, four more on the lower deck by the water. Seven total. Coffee in the morning, a book in the afternoon, nobody bothering you either time.
🔥 Upper deck (off the loft through the double glass doors): propane fire pit with rocks, electric grill, four Adirondack chairs, and bistro lights on an auto schedule. S'mores sticks are in the entryway.
🌙 Stargazing: 9,000 ft and almost no light pollution. The Milky Way shows up on clear nights without trying.
🎯 Cornhole and two sun loungers for the long summer afternoons.
🐾 Dog bed and bowl inside. The yard isn't fenced, so dogs stay leashed or supervised.
NEARBY ADVENTURE:
Divide sits at the top of Ute Pass on the back side of Pikes Peak, where Highway 24 meets Highway 67. It calls itself the Center of the Known Universe. Population is about 143. You're on the quiet side of the mountain, with everything on the busy side still inside an hour.
🥾 8 min: Mueller State Park (55 miles of trail, elk, wildflowers, snowshoeing in winter)
🧗 25 min: The Crags Trailhead (back-side route toward Devils Playground and the Pikes Peak summit)
🦴 20 min: Florissant Fossil Beds National Monument (petrified redwood stumps, easy trails)
🐺 5 min: Colorado Wolf and Wildlife Center (guided tours, feeding demos)
🚘 30 min: Pikes Peak Highway entrance at Cascade
🎣 40 min: Eleven Mile Canyon (Gold Medal fly fishing on the South Platte)
🛶 50 min: Eleven Mile Reservoir and Spinney Mountain (Dream Stream)
🏰 30 min: Cripple Creek (gold mine tours, casinos, narrow gauge railroad)
⛰️ 35 min: Rampart Reservoir (fishing, the Rainbow Gulch loop)
❄️ Under 2.5 hrs: Breckenridge, Keystone, Ski Cooper, Monarch
Fall color runs late September into early October, and the aspens off Highway 67 toward Cripple Creek are the reason people book that week. Whatever you do out there, the hot tub and sauna are waiting when you get back.
GUEST ACCESS:
You'll have the entire A-frame to yourself: all three decks, the hot tub and cedar barrel sauna on the lower deck, the hammocks, the fire pit, and the driveway. Parking for 3 vehicles in the driveway, no street parking. Door code comes to you before your stay.
OTHER THINGS TO NOTE:
Read this part. It's the honest stuff.
🪜 Ladder stairs to the loft. Eight of them, steep and slanted, with a handrail on the right. Great for most people, not ideal if you have knee, hip, or balance issues, and not something most dogs will do on their own. Look at the photos before you book.
🛁 The hot tub is down 13 steps. The lower deck is railed all the way around, but those stairs get slick when it snows. Shoes on the way down, and take it slow at night.
🧖 Cedar barrel sauna and hot tub controls aren't obvious. Sauna: left dial to max, then on the right side under the heating element turn clockwise to 1 (you'll hear a clunk), then to 2 (another clunk), then back to 1. That runs it about an hour. Hot tub keypad: mode up/down, plus and minus for temperature, keep it between 101°F and 104°F. We send full instructions before you arrive.
🏔️ 9,000 ft elevation. Some guests get a mild headache or feel wiped out the first day. Drink more water than you think you need, go easy the first afternoon, and skip the third beer. Elevation plus a long hot tub soak plus alcohol is a rough combination.
🌡️ No air conditioning. At this elevation the nights drop into the 50s even in July. Open windows and fans handle it.
☀️ The loft gets bright early. Colorado sunrises are aggressive. Blackout pole blinds are provided, but bring an eye mask if you're a light sleeper.
🛣️ Gravel driveway, dirt on the last stretch. Fine for a regular car May through October. AWD or 4WD is strongly recommended October through May. The county plows the area regularly, but how fast depends on the storm and where you fall in their route. Build in buffer time.
🦌 The four hammocks on the lower deck come in every night. Not a suggestion. Deer and elk wander through and antlers get tangled in hammock rope. Roll them up and drop them in the bin under the deck before bed. The three eggshell hammocks under the deck can stay out.
🐻 Bear country. The bear-proof can is out front by the 399 sign. No trash, no food, no coolers left outside overnight, ever.
🚭 No smoking or vaping anywhere on the property, inside or out. Fire danger is real up here.
🔥 Propane fire pit only. No open fires or wood burning on the property. Uncover the pit before lighting, use the lighter from the kitchen, and don't put the cover back on while the rocks are still hot. Spare tanks are under the deck.
🍳 The grill is electric, not gas. On purpose. It sits near a tree and we'd rather not find out what happens.
🚿 Septic system. Nothing down the toilet but what's supposed to go there. No wipes, even the flushable kind.
🚰 Kitchen sink runs backward. Push the handle up for cold, down for hot. It's labeled at the sink.
📶 Cell service is decent here, WiFi is better. Get on the network when you walk in and you won't think about it again. 308 mbps Starlink.
🐾 Unfenced yard. Two dogs, up to 75 lbs each. There's wildlife everywhere, so keep them leashed or in sight. Dog bed and bowl are by the wall opposite the sliding doors. Dogs are not allowed in the hot tub or the sauna.
🎉 No events or parties allowed on this property. Max 4 guests.
🐕 Yard & Dogs
The yard isn't fenced. Dogs are welcome (up to 2, 75 lbs each) but need supervision. Elk, black bear, and deer pass through. Neighbors keep chickens nearby, so you may hear them.
📱 Cell Service & WiFi
Cell service is solid; Verizon and AT&T most reliable. WiFi is Starlink and holds up well for remote work.
🪢 Hammocks In at Night
Bring the deck hammocks inside before bed. Left out, deer can wander through and get tangled.
🔥 Grill & Fire Pit
The grill is electric, not gas, since it sits close to a tree. The fire pit is propane, so no ash and low fuss.
🧖 Hot Tub & Sauna Controls
Both take a minute to figure out the first time. We'll walk you through it before your first soak.
