„Tolle Unterkunft mitten im Nirgendwo um sich erholen zu können. Der Pub stammt aus dem 11.Jahrhundert und ist sehr gemütlich. Restaurant sehr gut und herzlich geführt. Zimmer eher schlicht. Einziges Manko sind die sehr weichen Betten. “

„Birthday stayover, we attended the Apex for a music event. The Fox had ample free parking, early book in, lovely walk into town via ruins gardens. Room was clean, warm, quiet and comfortable. We would definitely stay again and i would recommend“

„Wir waren schon einmal vor sieben Jahren im "The Old Red Lion Inn" und es hat uns gut gefallen.Dieses Mal waren wir aber enttäuscht ,denn die Betten waren so durchgelegen ,dass die Sprungfedern schon durchkamen.Nach der esten Nacht bekamen wir ein neues Zimmer, aber die Betten waren im gleichen Zustand wie im ersten Zimmer.Da meine Frau Probleme mit ihrem Rücken hat,wurden ihre Schmerzen unerträglich und sie daher nur noch kurze Wege laufen konnte.Das Frühstück ist auch nicht mehr so ...

„Lovely bedroom & bathroom with bath & separate shower (Petticrows room). Staff very friendly & helpful. Food very good. Room had everything needed for a comfortable & enjoyable stay. Would definitely stay again if in the area.“

„The hotel is part of a historic inn which was very atmospheric. We stayed in a family room for 3 people and the room was warm and cosy and welcoming as we arrived just before 9pm and it was a bit chilly in the countryside. Breakfast was excellent and in a nice dining room in a genuine rural setting. Service was friendly & excellent.“

„I couldn’t have wished for anything better! A spontaneous stay while I attended a course at the Curwen Print Study Centre near by (which is also excellent). The room was large yet super cosy, beautifully decorated with attention to detail. Lots of soft cushions, blankets and fluffy rugs. Everything was clean and tidy, and warm which was very much appreciated. The pub was so welcoming - staff and punters! And the food was home cooked, plentiful and very tasty. Definitely recommend the food 😀“

„Clean good sized room, towels, kettle, mugs/tea/coffee making facilities and ample breakfasts. Stayed in family rm and lucky to not have other people stay next door so had the shower/toilet to ourselves. Staff were nice, friendly and polite. Flexible in having takeaway sarnies for lunch in place of breakfast. Decor a bit dated and room a little too room, but on the whole felt very comfortable. Thanks 😊 “

„Lovely old cottage, furnished well with a nice kitchen having everything you need for eating in (except for a sieve or collander). Clay tiles on ground floor make the floor cold so bring slippers in low season. Some very low beams so tall people beware. Couldn't light the gas fire though. Surprised to find slow-moving bees on window sills or on floor each day when returning from day out.“

„Es war dieses Mal unser fünfter Aufenthalt in Cholchester, sodass wir die Gegend bereits sehr gut kannten. Das Haus liegt sehr ruhig und idyllisch an direkter Wassefront. Cholchester ist mit dem Auto in ca. 10 Minuten zu erreichen. Oberflächlich ist das Haus sauber, nur beim genaueren Hinsehen und Nutzen der Küche waren zum Beispiel deutliche Fettanhaftungen an der Dunstabzugshaube und nicht gut gereinigtes Besteck festzustellen.
