„In die Jahre gekommene Hemlock Lodge mitten im State Park. Am Hang gelegen und mitten im Wald, viele Vögel und Eichhörnchen aber wenig Blick. Gute Betten aber Möbiliar und Badezimmer sind alt zuweisen zahlreiche Gebrauchspuren auf. Alle Zimmer haben großen Balkon. Leider nicht allzu sauber. Im angeschlossen Restaurant gab es sowohl morgens als auch abends Buffet. Preiswert aber auch nur allenfalls durchschnittlich gut. Die Natural Bridge kann man zu Fuß in einer 3/4 Stunde erreichen. „The cabin was clean and in good order. Everything we needed was there . We only needed to bring ourselves and the food . The hot tub was enjoyed in the evenings after exploring the gorge all day . We hiked in three different areas of the park and came back to peace and quiet . I counted 4 cars go by for the entire stay . The only sounds were the birds singing. If ya don’t mind the drive from town , I highly recommend this cabin “

„Our stay was great! The hot tub was the best part! Did read about the steep road and driveway ahead of time and we drove our truck. It was doable. We went hiking at Red River Gorge and did the Gorge underground. Very neat and adventurous.“

„We liked it overall. No directions for fireplace. It may have been broken. Microwave handle was broken. Steps to loft were a bit steep for us older folks. Tough road to get up to cabin. Overall we were pleased with our stay.“

„My family had a pleasant time at Throw'n Shade. It was a quick trip to get outdoors at the Gorge, grab some pizza, then a evening at the cabin. The location is beautiful, nice view of a valley in the spring with no close neighbors. Just enough for what we were looking for.“

„The 1.5 mile gravel road with a few steep hills were an adventure of its own, but well worth it once there! The cabin and views were perfect. Nothing better than opening the door to hear water falls to have some coffee to start the day. The directions given when we picked up the keys were spot on and helped tremendously - helped us know which side of the lake we needed to be on.I will say that the downstairs toilet is quite low and in tight quarters. All in all, we highly recommend!“

„The size was fine for one person. However, the futon as extremely difficult to pull out or back up. I had to pull the entire unit away from the wall and get behind it to lift it back up which strained my back. If any one had a back issue they would not be able to do it. The futon cover, when pulled off, left a lot of dirt on top of the mattress and had to be cleaned off before sheets could go on. There was no internet the entire stay and I think that should have been disclosed before I booked ...

„my son, daughter and I wanted to explore the red river Gorge during spring break. We stayed at the property and it was fantastic. It had all the amenities we needed was located exactly where we wanted to be at in the gorge area. It was extremely easily to get in touch with the property managers. We love the outdoor fire pit right by the stream.“
