Welcome to Bananaquit Bungalow, a private, fully off-grid retreat tucked into the peaceful hills of Estate Boetzberg, designed best for solo travelers or couples looking for a quiet escape. This colorful Caribbean cottage offers tropical surroundings, beautiful views, and a quiet setting just a short drive from Christiansted, beaches, golfing, and restaurants.

The bungalow features one dedicated bedroom with a king bed, one full bathroom, and an additional half bathroom with a washer and dryer. The second room has been converted into a comfortable TV room and wellness space with light exercise equipment and room for yoga (it is not available or equipped as a second bedroom). These rooms have AC units.

The home also includes a full kitchen, inviting living spaces, and peaceful outdoor areas with hammocks and other sitting areas where guests can enjoy the natural surroundings and island breezes. Ceiling and portable solar standing fans help create more airflow in these areas as needed.

Important off-grid living information: Bananaquit Bungalow is powered entirely by solar panels and battery storage and does not receive electricity from the utility grid. Water supply is collected from rainfall into large cisterns. Guests must actively conserve resources during their stay. Excessive use of air conditioning, laundry appliances, or other high-energy equipment—especially after sunset or during cloudy weather—can drain the batteries and cause a temporary power outage. If the batteries are depleted, electricity may not return until the system receives sufficient sunlight. During dry spells, water should be reserved by shortening shower lengths and turning off water when not needed (example when brushing teeth).

Bananaquit Bungalow is best suited for environmentally conscious guests who are comfortable conserving energy, enjoy nature and embracing authentic off-grid island living. It is not suitable for guests who require continuous low temperature air conditioning or guaranteed uninterrupted electrical service.
By booking Bananaquit Bungalow, guests acknowledge that the property is powered exclusively by solar panels and battery storage, with no utility-grid connection. Guests agree to conserve electricity, turn off air conditioners when rooms are unoccupied, and refrain from running both air-conditioning units continuously or overnight. Excessive electrical use may deplete the batteries and cause a temporary power outage. Battery depletion resulting from excessive guest usage is not considered a property malfunction.

• Shoes: This is a shoe-free home. Please remove outdoor shoes upon entering. Disposable slippers are provided for your comfort.
• No smoking or open flames: Smoking, vaping, candles, incense, and open flames are strictly prohibited anywhere inside the home or on the property. Please do not use strongly scented sprays, fragrances, or chemical products that may leave a lingering odor.
• Pets and assistance animals: Pets are not permitted unless approved by management in advance. Approved animals must be house-trained, supervised at all times, kept off furniture and beds, and never left alone inside the home or unattended outside. Additional cleaning charges may apply. Assistance animals will be accommodated in accordance with applicable law and Airbnb policy.
• Children: Children must be closely supervised whenever they are outside. The property includes steep stairs, uneven terrain, and plants that may have thorns or sharp edges. Utility, solar-equipment, and other restricted areas are off-limits to all guests.
• Plants and landscaping: Do not pick, cut, dig up, damage, or remove any plants, flowers, branches, fruit, or landscaping from the property.
• Food and cleanliness: Do not eat in the bedrooms or on upholstered furniture. Clean dishes, counters, and food spills promptly after each meal. Place interior garbage in the exterior receptacle as needed to help prevent pests.
• Air conditioning: Keep all windows and exterior doors—including the bathroom window—closed while the bedroom air conditioner is operating. The unit is intended to cool the bedroom only and should not be used to cool the main living area. Turn it off whenever you leave the property.
• Property boundaries: Respect neighboring properties. Do not enter surrounding privately owned land or leave trash anywhere outside the designated receptacle.
• Damage and maintenance: Report damage, breakage, maintenance concerns, or other problems to management immediately when discovered—not after checkout.
• Furniture and amenities: Do not move or rearrange furniture. Artwork, art supplies, furnishings, and guest amenities must remain at the property.
• Registered guests only: Only guests included on the reservation may enter or use the property unless management approves additional visitors in advance.
• No parties or gatherings: Parties, events, large gatherings, and disruptive activities are prohibited. The home may not be used as a gathering place.
Failure to follow these rules may result in additional cleaning or damage charges and, when permitted under Airbnb policy, termination of the stay.
