Welcome to Lakeview Hideaway, my place in the heart of Lakeview. It's an easy, comfortable base for a Chicago trip, with room for the whole group. It's made for families, friends, and work trips, and just as good for a longer stay, with three queen bedrooms, a full kitchen, and fast WiFi. The building dates to 1889: real Chicago character with modern updates throughout. Wrigley, the lakefront, dining, and the 'L' are all a short walk away. I'm Steve, your host, and I can't wait to have you.
I keep a close eye on messages before and during each stay, and the fastest way to reach me is right through your booking platform. I'm always happy to help with arrival questions, parking, local recommendations, or anything that would make your stay more comfortable.
Lakeview is one of the best parts of Chicago to actually stay in. You can grab coffee or dinner along the Southport Corridor and Clark Street, catch a Cubs game or a show, or take a morning walk on the Lakefront Trail, all close by. When you want the rest of the city, the 'L' has you downtown, at the museums, or in Lincoln Park in minutes. It's a real neighborhood, not just a place to sleep.
You have the full apartment. Shared building areas include the main entry and stairwell, the laundry/utility area, and a small backyard with outdoor seating in the warmer months (roughly May through October). Your car is handled with free street-permit parking, subject to availability, and there are public garages nearby.
There's real room to spread out here. You'll have a full kitchen, dining space, living room, fast WiFi, and three queen bedrooms, comfortable for families, friends, or work travelers. It's a historic 1889 building, so please note the apartment has one bathroom and is up two flights of stairs.
The Bedrooms: To fit comfier queen beds, the bedroom doors don't open all the way, a slightly tighter squeeze for a bigger bed.
Bedroom 1: Queen bed. Bedroom 2: Queen bed. Bedroom 3: Queen bed. Additional sleeping: sleeper sofa, air bed, pack and play if needed.
Cooling: window and portable units in the living areas and 2 of 3 bedrooms; I keep extra fans on hand for the warmest days.
Getting to what you came for is easy here. Wrigley, the lakefront, restaurants, and the 'L' downtown are a short walk or ride, so you can leave the car and the logistics behind and just enjoy the trip. If you do drive, your car is handled: I include free street-permit parking, subject to availability. Chicago parking rules vary block by block, so please read the signs.
A Historic Home (built 1889): This is a second-floor walk-up: two flights of stairs, no elevator, and loads of character. You can still spot the original gas-lamp hookups in the bedrooms, from before the building had electricity. With several units under one roof, a little city and neighbor noise can carry. The train is a short walk away but too far to actually hear.
The Bedrooms: To make room for comfier queen beds, the bedroom doors don't open all the way. A slightly tighter squeeze on the way in, but many guests happily trade a few inches of doorway for a bigger bed.
Cooling: Window and portable units cool the main living areas and 2 of the 3 bedrooms, roughly May through October. Even when summer runs hot, we know how to keep the space cool!
Parking: Your car is handled. I include free street-permit parking, subject to availability, with details in your guidebook.
Accidental Damage Waiver: A non-refundable Accidental Damage Waiver may be included with your booking. It covers ordinary accidental damage up to a set limit if you tell me before check-out. It does not cover intentional damage, parties, smoking, pet damage, unauthorized guests, theft, injuries, or anything above the limit. It is not insurance.
