„This property was perfect for our weekend getaway with friends. Private, yet located as a cottage on a stunning property, it had a wraparound deck with forest views from all windows. Kitchen was small, yet well-appointed and furniture and beds were very comfortable! We appreciated the wood-burning fireplace and logs & kindling that were left for us. „Amazing...a 3 star that is 5 star for nature lovers! Log cabins with kitchen and comfortable beds, real fire places with ample free dry wood topped up daily, view of the lake. 2 hot tubs and sauna, free access to plenty of canoes, kayaks and paddle boards any time you want, small but good size quiet lake with fish to catch, multiple docks with chairs and other access to swim. „J’ai passé deux journées magnifiques dans la boathouse. L’emplacement est parfait et j’ai amplement profité de la vue sur le balcon, que ce soit lors de l’apéro en fin d’après-midi ou en en prenant mon café le matin lors du lever du soleil.
J’ai utilisé les kayaks mis à notre disposition. Belle balade sur l’eau en fin de journée. Des phoques nageaient autour de moi.“

„We used The Hobbit as our base for a three night trip for Gabriola. Clean, comfortable and well hosted by an available but privacy-respecting couple (Nancy and Gregory), we really enjoyed out stay. Breakfasts were a nice touch and were well tailored to our considerable dietary needs. Would absolutely stay again.“

„The house was spacious, well supplied with all that we needed for a comfortable stay. It was very clean, quiet, beds comfortable, and we appreciated the ambience of the forest. Turning in the driveway was a bit of a challenge with the kayaks on the cars, but a small thing in the end. There were four of us, but this cottage would be good for more, and prepared for young children too.
The wood burning stove was cozy to light after a cold day kayaking. We enjoyed our stay.“

"Als Ausgangspunkt für verschiebende Ausflüge zum Pacific Rim National Park oder ähnliches, war die Unterkunft in Ordnung. Die Nähe zum Depature Bay Terminal war gut. Umliegend gab es Einkaufsmöglichkeiten und Restaurants.
Die Lautstärke durch die Dusche, Lüftungsanlage und sonstigen Geräuschen der anderen Gäste war leider sehr laut. Die Zimmer sind nicht gut schallisoliert. Das Frühstück entsprach leider nicht einem uns bekannten kontinentalen Frühstück. Es gab nicht mal Toast - aufgrund von COVID war die Begründung. Zum Glück musste man nicht extra für das Frühstück zahlen.
Das Hotel ist auch eher etwas in die Jahre gekommen. Was aber für drei Nächte ok war. Ob ich es nochmal buchen würde, weiß ich noch nicht (aufgrund mangelnder Auswahl beim Frühstück und Geräuschkulisse). "
