Excelente villa

La Vila estĂĄ muy bien ubicada cerca de comercios como tienda de vĂ­veres y de vino cafĂ© etc. muy conveniente. Tuvimos un problema con la electricidad que fue atendido de manera puntual por el personal Marcela la encargada de la casa es muy Amable y atenta siempre con una sonrisa. Lo Ășnico quiza serĂ­a renovar los colchones de algunas camas y los asientos de la sala por todo lo demĂĄs es un exlcenete Lugar conveniente.

Great Location - Large Home and Property

This property was difficult for me to rate as seeing a lot of 5 Star ratings likely set my expectations too high. Aspects deserving of 5 Stars are: 1) The cleanliness of the property, 2) The warm welcome by the caretaker and her availability to answer questions, 3) The size of the house to accommodate large groups, 4) The proximity to groceries, wineries and restaurants. 5) The beds were comfortable and bathrooms well stocked. 6) The pool was clean and refreshing. Items for me that make it less than 5 stars include: 1) Our group needed to do laundry, but due to an apparent water issue, we were asked to only do 1 load per day. This was inconvenient after our group of 8 had already been traveling for 10 days and were counting on this availability. 2) After being asked to limit laundry, we were told to be patient for hot water in back bathroom - which took 5 minutes to arrive. Guess I should have done laundry by hand in that tub with the cold water... A tankless water heater in that bathroom would prevent the wasted water. 3) The couches/chairs in the living room are past their prime and uncomfortable for relaxing with our group for an evening glass of wine. 4) The wi-fi signal does not reach the back bedrooms of the house and the pool, despite there being two routers. A wi-fi booster would help with this. 5) There was an initial lack of communication with the owner which led to a misunderstanding of pricing per number of guests and the number of nights we were staying. This house has great character and I would recommend it overall.

Beautiful Property, Great Location

Everything was immaculate and well maintained. The grounds and home were enormous! The property was next to all the basics including a bakery, market, wine shop, pharmacy, vegetable stand and more. A number of restaurants are only 3 to 10 minutes away by foot. The Plaza is only a few blocks away. If you need more shopping or provisions, Palmares, Mendoza's largest mall, is only a five minute drive away. And if you want to be central to wineries but still have amenities, Chacras really is the only place to be.

Spacious villa in the quaint town of Chacras

Very spacious and well appointed - walking distance to groceries and restaurants. Excellent location to visit many wineries. The caretakers also cooked an asado for my birthday which was delicious and very fun. Would definitely stay again and highly recommend it!

Good place that needs some improvements

A nice large old character villa in a nice neighbourhood. Large swimming pool and a huge landscaped yard. With that, there are a few annoyances with the condition of the house and the service. Water pressure isn’t adequate, impossible to take more than one shower at the same time. There was no bath soap and shampoo provided and one roll of toilet paper per bathroom and no condiments except salt. The dishes all needed washing before first use. The A/C was not on upon arrival and the house was super hot. The wifi is only working in the living room (and even that wasn’t working during our last day). Washing machine is listed in the ad, but wasn’t working and we had to use the house keepers private machine. A house manual with contact information for transportation companies and other info would be helpful.

Amazing property to tour Andes around Mendoza

Secluded yet in the middle of a commercial area with immediate access to all necessities. Kind and caring caseros make sure pool is clean, garden is tended, and all is in order. Owner is responsive and considerate. Could use some shade with at least one umbrella around the pool, and a few more items in the kitchen (steak knives, potato peeler) but obviously these are exceedingly minor things. Stove is historic so oven does not regulate temperature well but once you know that it can be managed. Cannot recommend it highly enough!

Autentico!

We were a group of 6 friends, traveling from the US for a birthday celebration. Planning so far in advance, during a pandemic, while Argentina was closed had its challenges, but the owner, Ann, was amazingly patient & communicative with us the whole time! The house was exactly as pictured and had plenty of space of our whole group. Wish we would've had time to use the pool! It was so great having a kitchen & washing machine. Soledad & Oscar (the caretakers) were so lovely and property manager Esteban made sure we were all checked in and out properly! Oscar prepared an authethic bbq asado for us one night in the backyard (prearrange that!) and they set us up beautifully in the enormous quincho (or, as we called it, our dance party ballroom). The property was walled & locked & felt very safe...and everything you needed (included wineries!) were in walking distance. A lovely experience!

Perfect Setting for a Vacation

Villa Viamonte was a fabulous location for our extended family/friends vacation in Argentina. It is spacious and nicely appointed, with an extensive property surrounding the villa. It is in walking distance to many amenities and 1/2 block from the bus stop to take advantage of Mendoza province's excellent public transit system. We would love to visit again.

Turn back time

Great example of how life in Mendoza once was with this grand finca. Honestly felt like we were staying in a living museum. Very spacious property that accommodated our large group spanning 5y.o. to 75y.o. Perfect for those that want a more relaxed setting, yet still close to the city provided you have transportation. Ann was very responsive and her on site staff was a available when needed. I would recommend this property without hesitation.

Amazing and Stunning!!

From the moment the gate opened up we realized that we were going to experience a incredible and peaceful location. The location is perfect location for visiting the various Bodegas, Andres, Thermal Spa, and Mendoza City Center. Out the front gate and a block to the left are stores that can provide for your immediate needs for an Asado utilizing the properties cooking areas--excellent! Ann was fantastic with communications and recommendations--Thank you so much for making this a special event for our family. The accommodations are excellent...plenty of space, great kitchen, fantastic cooking areas, very well supplied, super clean, and most of all--peaceful. You won't be disappointed in your stay--actually your only disappointment will be not staying here! Thanks again for an incredible accommodation--the highlight of our time in the area!

An amazing experience!

First off, I'd have to say the communication with Ann was excellent. She was very responsive in getting back to us with any answers to our questions. The house was even nicer than the pictures led us to believe. The property is huge and very well kept. The neighborhood is wonderful and there is so much to do in the area. We absolutely loved this place and will be returning if it is still available the next time we come back to Mendoza. Thank you Ann!

An island of beauty and peace!

We so appreciated our stay at this elegant and welcoming home. It is amazing to enter through the gate from a busy area in the Mendoza region and find an oasis of peace and comfort. This has to be one of the top vacation rental properties in the wine country there. Most of the larger wine producers are fairly close by, and Chakras is a charming upscale small town about 15 kilometers from the city of Mendoza. There are excellent places to shop for food just right there outside the walls. Butcher, vegetable and fruit store, wine vendor, general grocery market, pastry shop - all right there. Quite amazing, actually. We love to eat and it was no problem at all. Also many wonderful dining opportunities with small and very good restaurants right in the town. The caretakers are friendly and very helpful, and we were able to communicate with them amazingly well even though for some of our non-spanish speaking members there were time of lots of waving and smiling. We did not have time to take advantage of an asada which they do provide, but will save that for another time. Ann was very friendly and helpful in answering questions and responding to our needs. The pool is so lovely (temperature not too cold!) and children's play equipment combined for a piece of heaven for our young children. This property was a perfect for us, and we recommend it highly. Would go back in a heartbeat!

Beautiful villa to relax and explore Mendoza from

We were 2 families visiting from Canada (10 in total) and found this incredible villa through Homeaway. Turns out it's owned by a Canadian wine making family, which provided an extra special connection. We had originally booked for 3 nights and upon arrival immediately requested an additional night, which was fortunately possible. What an amazing home right in the middle of Mendoza wine region. We were able to walk to several wineries and restaurants from the house and everything else is easily accessible by car. The property is very well maintained, very spacious and well equipped with everything we needed. Ann recommended a visit to Clos de Chacras winery, which is a pleasant walk from the house. Wow, what a gem and the lunch we had was absolutely superb. Villa Viamonte is an easy 10 out of 10 and I can't wait to go back.

Spacious villa on beautiful lot on the outskirts of Mendoza

I recently stayed at Villa Viamonte with 5 of my friends. While the villa is spacious and on a very nice lot with a giant pool. The architecture and grounds really are great! People should be aware it is not super close to town and taxis are limited so you may need a car or car service to get around. That said, the town of Chacras de Coria is a walkable town with plenty of restaurants - all within walking distance to the villa. The villa also provided great proximity to wineries in the Lujan de Cuya and Miapu regions. Back to the villa...The ability to speak Spanish is immensely helpful as the people who live onsite and take care of the property do not speak any English. Using Google translate, we were able to arrange for them to prepare a traditional asado for us and it was fabulous...so much food! Some of the issues we experienced include: - villa wasn't stocked well with toilet paper, bath towels or any drinking water - some ant problems (live and dead) - no dryer as listing indicated (not a big deal unless it rains the entire time you are there like it did for us) - the villa was a bit musty (especially the bedrooms and office, which we used as a bedroom) - door keys all hung unlabeled on a board in the kitchen so finding specific keys when needed was challenging - villa cleaning did not happen during our stay as indicated at booking Finally, make sure to get a local contact number for the onsite staff so you can contact them in an emergency. We had two such occasions - 1, we were given the wrong physical address for the villa so without a contact number we had to search the street door-to-door to find the correct villa and 2, the security gate/door wouldn't close one day. Since the staff were away for the day (it was a Sunday) and didn't answer their door, we were forced to email the property owner in Canada for help. This was not efficient and cost us several hours each day just trying to get help. Overall, we had a wonderful time in Mendoza and at the villa which really is its own private oasis.
