We only learned there were other guests in the basement from hearing their activity, then their smoke alarm going off from a cooking incident. While snow and ice may not be normal in DC, during our stay there was a lot of ice that was not cleared. Very slippery and unsafe. You enter the property through the lower level deck that was very icy.
