Spend a restful night in a warm cozy bedroom and wake up to a beautiful morning at Heritage Springs! Enjoy the stocked coffee bar and farm fresh eggs for breakfast and then feel free to take a stroll around the pond or sit on the screened-in porch and take in the beautiful view. Washington DC is a short 45 minute drive, Bull Run battlefield is only 10 minutes away and there are plenty of wineries close to the cottage. There is no shortage of things to do! After your day’s activities, curl up on the couch and watch TV, read a book, or play a board game! Send a message to the host if you’d like to schedule a time to walk down to the barn and give the cute miniature cows treats or meet the miniature Nubian goats! Wonderful location for a peaceful trip
We were very happy with the cottage, location, and surroundings. Though you are close to major highways, making it very accessible, you are just far away from the heavy traffic and noise of urban life to allow for a quiet, relaxing environment. My favorite area of the house was the kitchen and dining nook. The window overlooks the pond and we enjoyed watching the ducks and geese. When we sat outside, in the screened in porch, we could hear the songbirds and cattle. We also liked hearing the rooster in the morning. (Surprisingly, this was not audible inside, so no worries for those who like to sleep in later than the rooster does!) There were plenty of towels and paper products. We found the beds comfortable. If you need a darkened room for sleep, I suggest bringing a sleep mask. I liked the light coming into the room in the morning, so it wasn't an issue for me. We walked around the outside of the cottage a little bit but we didn't happen to be home when the animals were being bedded down for the night. This is something the owner made available to us, and I would love to visit the animals on another stay. I recommend the property for all of these reasons!
