Schönes B&B in ruhiger Lage

Das B&B ist sehr schön. Es ist ruhig gelegen und die Vermieterin kümmert sich rührend um einen. Die Zimmer sind zwar etwas klein, aber das liebevolle Ambiente sorgt für den Ausgleich.

It was our another stay in this beautiful place. A place worth recommending for every season of the year. I will definitely come here again some time. Good location, very nice host, cleanliness and delicious breakfast, reasonable prices, total quality - great!

Location was peaceful and easy to find. Host was friendly, welcoming and offered good advice on activities in the area. Room was very cramped and had a sour odour-mould? noted on bathroom walls.

A little out of the way

The room was in a lovely setting and was very comfortable but there was no place to have an evening meal close by - we had to travel about 8 kilometres into Castlebar for our evening meal.

A very good quick stay for wedding

We stayed here instead of Breaffy House hotel for a wedding. Price was a great value. The wedding as per norm runs late into the night/early morning and we ended up getting up late for bfast. The inn keeper was so gracious. Even though we were 1/2 hour after the close of bfast she still allowed us the opportunity to eat. The meal was good. 1 full Irish, 1 order french toast with an egg. 1 coffee (via french press) & 1 hot tea. Location allowed us to walk 'home' to bed instead of drive...even though it's basically just one very long driveway and 1 cross street from the hotel (FYI It wasn't my car so had no say...walk to the BnB or don't get to your bed for the night. If it was my car, I would have taken it from Breaffy to the BnB). Luckily there was no rain or the walk would have been too long. Also I didn't have really high heels on. Have your cell phone handy as a light. I did use it a couple times as a light where the driveway was a bit too dark. Although we spent very little time in the room our twin room was tight; meanwhile the bathroom was VERY spacious. The sheets were a bit worn & proper bed side end table(s) would have been grand. I couldn't get hot water in the bathroom sink but the shower had great hot water. The water pressure in the shower was adequate but not over abundant. It was very nice to have liquid soap and hair conditioner provided.

Just as good as last time

My second stay at the oh-so-comfortable Woodview Lodge with the very welcoming Maureen. My room was spotless and warm and cosy. Breakfast was wonderful with a big choice and the scrambled egg wrapped in smoked salmon was fantastic.

This was an excellent find.

Maureen the hotelier was amazing, we were attending a wedding at Breaffy House and this location was excellent! Breakfast was good and Maureen made it feel like this was a home away from home! Well worth the stay and money.

Amazing hospitality in a quiet town!

I wish we had more time here! The room was great with a private bathroom. Very close to castlebar's city center (5 min drive). Maureen was so nice and accommodating and she is an amazing cook!! Best Irish breakfast!!

Delightful!

This is a lovely B&B with wide, spacious and clean rooms, very comfortable beds and very kind hosts. The toilets are a bit small but well-sorted. During breakfast they treated us like kings and they also provided directions on what to visit in the area. You will need a car to move from the B&B to Castlebar, although I don't know why would you want to go there.

Lovely People, Cold House.

Myself and a colleague were attending a business conference at the Breaffy House Hotel in January 2017 and booked the Woodview Lodge Bed & Breakfast as the Hotel was fully booked. We found the proprietor friendly and welcoming, the house is clean and nicely decorated throughout the reception rooms, breakfast was very tasty and nicely presented. On the negative side, we found the house was exceptionally cold throughout for a January evening, the bedrooms decor was dated, towels were old and threadbare, and the bed linen was also dated. We both found it difficult to sleep due to the intense cold within our respective bedrooms. Having a shower in the morning brought back memories of boarding school. A little investment in the bedrooms plus turning on the central heating overnight would work wonders for winter guests.
