Near the entrance to Slab City. You can walk to the top. I guess it's art--depending on how you define art. But worth the visit!
I had been in California for about a year and came across a website called http://www.weirdca.com/ there is a couple different sites, but they are full of the weird! This little mountain is my first of the weird in California! You have to go! Enjoy.
The artwork is made from adobe, straw, and thousands of gallons of lead-free paint. Salvation Mountain was created by local resident Leonard Knight (1931–2014).[1] It encompasses numerous murals and areas painted with Christian sayings and Bible verses, though its philosophy was built around the Sinner's Prayer.

Die Unterkunft an sich ist gar nicht so schlecht - höchstens man erwartet 5* Hotel - das ist sie aber nicht. Der Besitzer ist sehr freundlich und zuvorkommend. Es ist ihm sehr wichtig, das sich seine Hotelgäste immer wohlfühlen. Die Zimmer sid groß, aber dies ist glaube der Standard in den USA. Leider ...

Super pleased with my stay here! The hotel room was super cute, farmer themed and the staff was really friendly. Super accommodating to early check in & whatever else we needed. I loved that the pool was open till 12am. Definitely would stay here again!

Great find in El Centro. Cozy home with all of the amenities in a quiet neighborhood. This was great while we were in town visiting family and much more comfortable than a hotel.
